I'm no Murphy fan, but I'm extra disgusted by the nastiness being shown toward him on that thread. No wonder he sought out another position. People today seem to think their self-anointed quest to right all social wrongs also excuses basic civility and decency. It doesn't.

THANK YOU. Both of these things are what I think when I see those comments. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

It’s so disgusting. I get the sense that because PKM is a white male, in their eyes he isn’t worthy of respect. I’m no fan either but the way they were tearing apart his resume? I’d like to see some of their resumes.

APS has gone too far to “engage” and now everyone thinks they’re entitled to a say in every.single.decision.

Murphy isn't worthy of respect because he's incompetent. Stop trying to find a way to make everything you dislike about AEMers proof that they're anti-white.

Dude, when a characteristic you want to see in the next superintendent is "not white", I think PP has a point. Not everyone is like that, but there are a bunch of virtue signaling followers who will go along with it. There are a lot of things I hope for in our next superintendent, but I don't care about the color of his or her skin.

Who needs to find a way? You guys illustrate it clearly yourselves almost every day.

I'm the PP disgusted by the lack of civility regarding someone who, yes, has a high profile job but is otherwise just an ordinary person like the rest of us, not deserving of the nastiness being directed his way. I think it would be great if the next Super is non-white. Ideally there will be more than one qualified candidate and of those candidates, I don't see why we wouldn't give a little weight to certain characteristics that were not reflected in prior superintendents and are reflective of the APS community. And I feel that way even though I can't stand the folks on AEM acting like entitled jerks. We don't have to pick teams on every issue.

I don't know exactly who you think I am, but you're categorically wrong.
