This. This is exactly it. Your husband is in the kitchen. You had a bad day and are being extra all around the house. You go to open an umbrella, pinch your finger and curse and throw it. He runs up and slaps you. Its abuse PLAIN AND SIMPLE. |
| Y’all are out of control. Sounds like the kid earned a slap. Your own kids could probably use one sometimes. |
Well, ALL-KNOWING mandated reporter... Jeff already confirmed that the OP isn't sock-puppeting & since he's already investigated this thread & he DIDN'T delete it, she's not a troll either. So maybe it all actually happened just as she says, huh? $ |
Former CPS worker here... it could happen that quickly but they would be required to do a face to face with OP and if it was hotlined at lunch, it could be done but if it wasn't severe abuse, they'd probably do it next day. Also, counselor should have had right information. It makes no sense. We would have to beg police to come out with us. They never investigated in less there was something criminal. Parents are rarely criminally charged. |

OP here. I was told by a cps worker from my state that it is their standard procedure to ask the police for a sort of a welfare check. Ours is a fairly quiet town so maybe the police does have enough resources to do that. IT WAS NOT an attempt to pin anything on me.
I got an attorney referral through a service and am to contact him on Monday. I also emailed the counselor that I am pulling my son out because we are going to do family counseling (and we are), and have the heads up to the teacher that he won’t be doing counseling. I think it will help to have someone who knows more of our family dynamic and all. My kid can be very disrespectful. And it’s hard even if I give him consequence; he is pretty persistent in testing boundaries. Maybe they will give me some tips. |
OP, your normal meter is all screwed up. Even people who hit for discipline (WHICH IS INSANE) will say that you *cannot* do it when you are "at the end of your rope." You have an anger management problem that you are taking out on a child. Stop it. |
So let me ask. As a former CPS worker here, are you well versed in the procedures in place for CPS in every state of the union and every jurisdiction, including cities and counties? Or is it possible that perhaps this occurred in a jurisdiction that you are not familiar with that has different policies? OP has said multiple times that she is not in the DC metro area. And yet, multiple people keep citing MD, DC and VA CPS policies. I'm not sure what relevance MD, DC and VA policies have to do with other state policies and why OP has to be lying if she says that her local CPS does things differently than they do in this area. Some of you need to spend more time reading and less time jumping on the liar bandwagon just because it doesn't fit the script of the agency that you worked for in this area. |
She never said it was welfare fare check and keeps slightly changing her story. If everything is ok, now why an attorney. I've worked in 3 different CPS's here and two in different states. |
DP Oh, for heaven's sake, Jeff doesn't (and can't) attest that someone is telling the truth about things that didn't happen on DCUM. He can say some limited things, like whether they are sockpuppeting, or where they are posting from (if relevant), or if it looks like they are posting inconsistently over time. That's all, more or less. He can say she doesn't exhibit red flags to being a troll. He can't say she isn't a troll -- just that if she is, it isn't obvious by the means he has to assess. He deletes if people violate the TOS. He doesn't delete just because he dislikes the content or person, and a thread stay up isn't a vouch for the OP or content in general. |
I called it a welfare Check but they never used the term. The attorney is to be equipped to deal with the case worker in case she is as fixated on accusing me as you are. |
Why do you keep posting if you think I am a troll?? And yes things in the political forum that are not aligned with the “general party line” are absolutely deleted. |
| Your son needs his own therapy away from you. |
1. I have posted twice (IIRC) in the 7 pages of the thread. This would be my third post. 2. I keep posting because you don't make sense and are trying to justify your abusive behavior toward your child. 3. Plenty of people have posted that they disagree with Jeff and don't get deleted. Also, we see those threads and posts. It takes more than disagreeing. |
