Really, you can't get that he lied to protect Trump, got caught, and now is telling the truth to avoid further penalties? Seems rather straightforward to me. Plus, none of the stuff that he is telling us about Trump is really a surprise. It's just filling in the blanks.

I lie to save my and other's asses all the time. The only time I'd ever come clean would be if I got caught. By then, what's the point to keep lying? You're caught. You're screwed. No point in it.
