LMFAO. My favorite quote from the saga post above. Maybe we should put the children in their safe rooms all Spring. Dear lord. |
Bless their dear little fragile heart. |
| There has been some speculative talk of LMVSC players leaving on this thread, what is the word from SYC families/players. Are they looking to give other places a look including LMVSC? It would be interesting to see players going in both directions. |
| I like the "GTFOH" |
| Anyone looking for a fun game to watch? SYC 05B Blue playing LMVSC 05B Red at the ASIST tournament should be...interesting... |
|
This whole thing was coordinated by a few. If SYC cared they would take a look at who is benefiting from the changes. The email response to concerned parents basically stating that they were on their own sucks.
Any LMVSC parent considering taking their kid to SYC is crazy. If they treat current parents and coaches like this nothing will stop them from doing it to the next set of parents. I've heard several parents are planning on taking their kids to other clubs next year. |
This whole things looks bad from the SYC side. Basically disregarding current staff and players in an effort to take someone else's. Also got to wonder what lines were crossed in the pursuit of coaches and players. Does this industry not have non compete clauses and non solicitation? |
| Yep mass exodus to Burke |
| Can anyone speak to the younger boys teams at Burke? Looking at U11 for next year. |
Presumably most anyone with a command of English. |
| Suburban english |
hilarious! |

The other day, I shared information with a friend and during a drunken text exchange, I thought my views should be public because my opinion is so gosh darn important. My friend took my thoughts, gave it a woman's touch and that led to the post dated 02/20/2019 22:55. Security settings and ad blockers prevent me from posting in ad based forums so my friend posted on my behalf but I own the thoughts expressed therein. Not the girly part about sagas and the kids emotional well being but the rest is on me.
I apologize to my executive director who got dragged into this discussion. She had nothing to do with the post so any reference to her is inappropriate. I apologize to SYC families for any insult to your club or your committee. I apologize to the coaches for any problems caused by my words and wish you the best in your future endeavors. As a precaution, I talked with my kids after my private thoughts became public so they wouldn't be blindsided. My daughter told me boys and girls at West Springfield and Hayfield already know about it and it's old news. She's focused on tryouts for the girls soccer team, not adult drama. Lesson one, grown up concerns are best kept with grown ups. My son asked me why the coaches left. I told him coaching is just a job and adults change jobs for different reasons. He asked me if his coach was quitting. I told him no. He said, "Good, because he's a god." I let that sink in. Lesson two, it's good for coaches to move whether it's to another team in the club or elsewhere because the connection to a specific coach shouldn't lead to "god" expectations. I wouldn't want my kids to have the same teacher year after year for the same reason. I'm leaving this thread now because it's made me the kind of dysfunctional dad I don't respect when I see it in others. I wish both SYC and LMVSC families the best as I get back to what's really important, my kids soccer. |
How do you know their coaches aren't leaving? Have you spoken to them about the current situation. It's natural for your kid to like his coach but you are also correct that it's not good to have the same one for many years. In my personal opinion I wouldn't want my kid to have a different coach each year. |
