| Just because she can wear non maternity clothing doesn’t mean she should. Especially for the price of that dress - she look a like a sausage stuffed into its casing with creases and wrinkles and back bulges. Not that she needs to wear a tent but just something that’s cut for her changing body. |

So you got big everywhere? I don’t see how buying plus size clothing is any better than maternity clothing. Besides the fact if I purchased larger clothing instead of maternity, the clothing wouldn’t fit my legs, arms etc. Some of us just grow a big bump but remain small. |
It worked for me. I got big in the chest/torso. Would buy 14-16-18 sized women's clothing. Cut in arm sleeves wasn't that different than smaller sizes, and of course the length of dresses/shirts didn't change much with the larger sizes. My point is that I felt I didn't need to go to a maternity line of clothing. I'm not saying it is better than going to a maternity clothing store, it was just how I shopped. |
Can you think of nothing nice to say? |
I thought the dress was cute but not seasonally appropriate. NP. I did not think she looked big, however. Some shots at certain angles gave that impression, but most did not. |
The dress is from a "resort wear" line and made of taffeta. |
So what? |
PP commenters seem to think the dress is made of cotton poplin, which I thought, as well. Since it is made of taffeta, it is appropriate for winter I think. She might get very warm inside, thus the capped sleeves. |
| I’m with the poster who would’ve looked ridiculous in larger sizes. I would have looked like I was wearing a muumuu. I’m usually fairly small/petite. My belly while pregnant looks ridiculous, but most of the rest of me doesn’t grow that much. Maternity clothing is cut to accommodate that. |
I thought I could just wear plus sized clothing during my second pregnancy (I did the first), but my body had other plans. I lost too much weight and was all bump. |

Fake bump.
The photo of the dress changing the shape of the top of her bump was super weird. Also explains her “cradling” it constantly as her being afraid it was out of place, and the wearing of the super tight dress as a way to keep it in place. Also, she got super big, super fast, out of no where, and it seems very large for how far along she is. Now, as to why she’s wearing a fake bump, I have no clue. I don’t particularly like her but I also don’t have anything against celebrities wearing fake bumps for whatever reasons they have. |
Why is buying plus size clothing better than buying maternity clothing? I see no difference unless you plan on remaining plus size post maternity. I’m a size zero. 107 and 5’4. Even when I was early on in pregnancy and tried to buy larger sizes, it still didn’t look right. Just like this photo of MM doesn’t look right. Maternity clothing exists for a reason and you’re not cool for buying plus sizes. I’d rather die than have a size 14 hanging in my closet. |
I'm a size 6, and I'd rather die than be such a cold bitch as you. Do you not see how nasty it is to type something like this on a public forum? Why would you do that? |
Well, we are built very differently. I'm 5'8" and normally wear a size 10/12. So it wasn't such a big jump to have a size 14/16 Ralph Lauren dress in my closet. If you read my PP, I said it wasn't better than buying maternity clothing -- it was just easier to shop that way at my normal stores like Lord and Taylor and Nordstrom Rack. Sorry you'd rather die than wear a size 14, which I see would be a jump for you from a Size 0. You wouldn't wear a size 14. |
