What are W schools?

Which suggests that, without the Poolesville HS students who test in from outside the Poolesville cluster, the student population of Poolesville HS would be (1) more white and (2) more poor. (And much smaller - which is why the HS magnet program is located at Poolesville HS, i.e., there was space there, and it allowed Poolesville HS to stay open, since a ~500 student high school is not a realistic option in MCPS.)

Poolesville is in bad shape and rather sinking a ton of $$$ it would be better to shutter the place and put the magnet somewhere more central.

Just yesterday I was walking around the shopping center kitty corner from Northwest, which Northwest high school students frequent, and it's really not an upscale shopping center (Shoppers is the biggest tenant), and it was after school too, and here is what happened: nothing. I got what I came for and then went home. Scary!

Boyds is nice too and schools there go to NW. Look at McNair and Matsunaga. Good schools. As for GHS, parts of King Farm go there.
