I like John Delaney. He has already announced he is running in '20 and his more moderate bi-partisan cooperation message should be appealing to the large numbers of non-crazy Rs and non-uber-liberal Ds. He's not the most inspiring public speaker but there is time for him to work on that and his message and background (successful business person) are broadly appealing and seem good for our country.

I am a D. I will evaluate each democrats running in primary carefully for their policy and records and chose the best one. I would also vote for Hillary enthusiastically again if she gets past primary. There is nothing wrong with her (and in fact she is amply fit) unless you have bought into all the nonsense that is pushed by right-wing media amplified by Russian/other enemy trolls.

But I do not think she is inclined to run again.

^^^ Case in point. This is a liberal.

It's a great idea. Don't try to squelch it.

They're saying they would vote for her if she got past the primary. I would too. That's not the same thing as saying she should run or would make it that far. I would vote for almost anyone over trump

I am the PP whose post was bolded above.

I do not see any sign of Hillary running for presidency again. However, if she does and she is picked by Democrats as the candidate I would be very happy to vote for her. She is an extremely qualified candidate. She might be hated by many , but a lot of the hate is mongered by right wing propaganda and general conditioning of people to distrust powerful women. She is not perfect, yet she is a lot better than a whole lot of politicians we have seen in American politics. The only aspects where I am concerned is her age. That's the reason I do not think she would run.

It is so tiresome to hear, over and over again, that the public has been "conditioned to distrust powerful women." Give me a break. I'd vote for a woman in a heartbeat - if it was the right woman. But then, I would never again vote for a Democrat, so it would have to be an independent or conservative woman for me. I suspect many people feel this way. They have no issue voting for a woman, contrary to what liberals would love to believe. But HRC is not that woman.

What is it about some liberals who just can't get it into their thick heads that what we need is not just someone who has the background to be president but he/she has to be ELECTABLE.

She is undoubtedly positioning herself for another run in 2020.

Are you a republican or a democrat? I think you are an R. What are you all going to do when the Clintons are dead? Where will all this energy go?

Not the PP, but one might ask the same about you regarding Trump and his family.

Anyone who doesn't admit that is blinded by partisanship or a fool, or both.

I'm very liberal, and I think this is completely wrong. I think Trump will win in 2020, no problem, and am prepared to knock on doors for months in 2018 and 2020 in opposition to him and all the Republican cowards who are supporting him. GOTV is the only way we can defeat him and his horrific policies.

Agree with other posters who say Democrats need a man to run in 2020. Just look at how Trump is destroying Merkel and May. He's a sadistic creep who is especially adept at targeting women politicians.

Yup, agree with everything you said.

Especially woman politicians who allow their countries to be overrun by every immigrant that can make it to the gates. I think he let a few men have it along the way too. Look at their policies to see why Trump is on them, not their gender.

Exactly. It makes them feel better to claim he's on their case because of their gender, when the reality is, he's right and would say the same things if these "leaders" were men. What they've done to their countries is appalling. And he's also correct about May's handling of Brexit.

Making fun of Gillibrand’s voice is so laughable when you consider the dotard in chief.

I think Elizabeth warren is the Dems’ best bet. Anyone who thinks she’s unelectable should ask themself whether the current guy was electable

Agree, and I agree with 99% of what she says, but I have to admit, her voice is a little hard to listen to.

I love warren but I think she’s too far left and can turn off a lot of people.

I don’t hear it. She sounds like most of the suburban mom crowd to me. I think she’s relatable.

But I guess women aren’t allowed to be upbeat?

She has convinced herself that she lost for reasons that were nothing to do with her flaws. Most important: she wants to be the first female president.

Here's a theory: The Dem at the top of the ticket in '20 will be the proverbial sacrificial lamb. No way will Cory Booker et al -- anyone with a real future in the party - want to risk it. So, why not run Hillary? She's just egotistical/ dumb enough to go for it again and who knows.... maybe lightening will strike and she actually pulls it off. She's literally the only one with nothing to lose and everything to gain by running.

Gillibrand has no chance of getting the nomination: she attacked Bill Clinton and said with with the benefit of hindsight he should have resigned over the Lewinsky affair.
