if they want rec clubs results and want to play rec club teams the players might as well go save thousands of dollars and play at a local rec club |
And where your kids playing soccer at all last weekend? |
If a rec club team is going to boot the ball and play kick and run with somewhat athletic kids, that kind of approach can be tough to beat especially at younger age groups. That doesn't mean that kids who learn to play a better style of soccer--including at FCBEscola--aren't going to be more successful down the road if they stick with it. They are also probably having a lot more fun learning to play the way that they are, as opposed to the kids who are playing kickball. Also, if you're referring to the tournament at Soccerplex this past weekend, I'm not sure I would call that a "rec tournament" but anyway...yes there were some re club teams in it, and also some decent travel teams depending on the age group. |
| You can't play possession style without correct technique, especially passing technique, no matter how hard you try. |
It was the Mid Atlantic Cup and FCBEscola had several teams registered. |
| They had 2 teams in the older age groups. The U15 Deco team which is ranked 144th in state (understandably finished last). Also the U17 Ibrahimovic team which is the B team in that age group for FCB, and they came in 2nd place to a U18 team. Come on now... |
| The U13 Bakero team won their bracket. The U11 Guardiola team came 1st in their group and got eliminated in the knockouts by Rockville, who creamed everybody else in that bracket. You are reaching... I sense jealousy? |
They also had some younger age group teams. I saw at least 2007 and 2005 as well. |
| I actually really wanted to take my daughter to them, but their sessions are always the same time as her regular club practices, so I had to give it up. |
Look at comment above yours. 05s are Bakero and 07s are Guardiola |
Decent travel teams shouldn't have a problem beating a rec team playing kickball. I'm sure not many are happy about the performance during the tournament. Most teams were in the bottom bracket, maybe a couple in the second lowest, so playing against some rec teams. Mixed performances in those low brackets, but not a single FCBEscola team were champions. |
| Why are you looking at results and standings for any team under U14? |
I'm pretty sure most of the parents are happy because they saw their teams adhere to a style they are being trained to play. But thanks for your watchdog concern. |
Thank you. “Y’know, those U11s are still not playing like Barcelona after 1 year.” Pssshhhhh. |

I think parents need to realize that things like FCB are developmental tools designed to build a child's natural talent, but it can't create talent.
This escuela is a great tool for your child. It is not however a conversion machine that will turn your child into the next Messi. |
