Oh please. If that was the case, the College Republicans wouldn't exist. The Campus Crusade (whatever they call themselves now) wouldn't be on campus.

No, my somewhat conservative women's college in VA is still somewhat conservative but welcoming of minority students.

Americans.

Who are YOU?

Some Russian troll?

LOL Good one

The bots try to boost the White House, not the other way around.

I think that this thread is being managed by GOP trolls and that it's part of the campaign that led the tax on SLACs endowments.

Ivies need to decide if their role is to educate ppl or not. If it is they need to incr add enrollment. Which they have not for decades. Clear mission, more people, bigger classes.

Can’t help how they “sculpt” each statistically diverse class. Always a crapshoot.

Lost respect for Yale years ago. No backbone to exercise leadership or stand up to the cultural warriors. The abhorrent episode with the Christakises was the last straw.

My kids will go study in Canada or California, no way they end in Yale.

I don't think that's the main reason your kids are not going to attend Yale.

Elite colleges exist to be the gatekeepers into the upper-middle class. If anything, they perpetuate inequality.

Not one for the facts, are you? If you plotted the average family income of students over the past 50 years you would see a steady downward trend as these colleges began to emphasize diversity and inclusion. Additionally, as their endowments have soared, they have been able to provide substantial financial aid to low income family. These colleges represent an important path to the middle-class and she be recognized as such.

You just reiterated the point that you were disputing, almost verbatim

No. The previous point painted selective colleges are perpetuating generational wealth inequality by keeping out lower and middle class applicants....that's what gatekeeper refers to.

From their whacked recent faculty hires to their bait and switch English courses to push an agenda, they have destroyed the classic liberal education. And I am appalled that every alumni doesn’t feel the same way I do.

Care to elaborate? Who did they hire and what's with the English courses?

But what choice do we have now? All the good schools have gone insane liberal. I'm middle of the road independent (some liberal ideas, some fiscal conservative ideas). I worry how my kids will be brainwashed in college. There are a number of schools that are off our list including my alma mater. Any suggestions for top schools that are more moderate?
