Take a knee during Pledge of Allegiance in VA Elementary school?

No, you are protesting the fact that this country is not living up to the values that flag represents. How can you not grasp that?

So, they are protesting the flag and the country. You just admitted it.

Yup. Protesting that the country still has room for improvement. And it worked, it got your attention.

But, it sure didn't get my support. It got my disgust.

A white man says America is not great, he gets elected.

A POC says the same thing and they get skewed.

Learn to understand your privilege.

Yeah, you weren't keen on BLM anyway.

This past weekend was more about responding to the president, though. Did you agree with Trump's words and the appropriateness of them?

I agree with his sentiment, but I don't think he should have said it.

Nevertheless, he is not our country and he is not our flag. Those guys sitting or kneeling during the Anthem are protesting the wrong symbol. It is disrespectful for those who are fought and, especially, those who have given their lives for it. If they want to protest Trump, there are a lot of other things they can do.

They have the right to do it, but, the owners also have the right to fire them. This is on the owner's time.

Trump does not seem to have realized yet that he is our president. You don't seem to have realized that either.

He sets policies, he sets, to some extent, public mores. He can encourage and guide us, in one direction or another, by every statement/tweet he makes.

He is the head of one of our three branches of government. He has limits on his powers and can only do so much within the checks and balances provided by the other two branches.

Shut up and play football.

Do you really think bringing politics into the game will help the bottom line?

Yes

Perhaps the teacher could have more of an impact if they worked hard on raising the academic achievement of black students..... which would go far in closing this issue.

Yes, and I think it's so outrageous that he is so patriotic and pro-American. Outrageous. Who does he think he is?
