Screaming children at my apartment pool

Hi, lazy parent!

Every time I go to the pool to relax I am surrounded by children screaming, slapping each other with pool noodles, splashing other people, high pitched shrieking, etc. cannot wait to move to a building without a lot of little kids.

Are you a parent? Obv not! This is normal and totally appropriate, otherwise they don't get their "wiggles and emotions" out. A lot of things change when you are a parent, you understand more.

I’m a parent, and your lazy, ridiculous permissiveness is laughable.

You need your own pool, or a resort pool with a no kids rule.

Another responder who can’t read.

This is why you don't want an apartment or condo with a pool. It attracts children and people with children.

My parents actually met at an "adults only" apartment complex in the 70's. My mom was a lifeguard at the pool and said it was the easiest job ever because no kids were allowed!

I’d rather have children shrieking at the pool than in the apartment next to me.

I checked out my apartment pool and I’ve found some days and times where it’s predominantly adults, and I go then.

You obviously went to a public school. We were not allowed to scream at private school...we were taught to respect others. Tell your brats to turn down the dial.

Unfortunately....there is NO ESCAPE. Anywhere there's a pool....there are screaming kids. Even in a 55+ community.....somehow the kids find their way in and scream bloody murder. Our pool is bigger, nicer, cleaner than the public pool, so the kids bring their screams over here and grace us with them for HOURS AND HOURS. We can no longer get near our own pool that we pay a LOT for because if the kids aren't in the water, their pee and poop will be for days.

DP What a stupid comment. Are you really that dense in real life?

Wow. I’m the OP of this thread. Six years later, I’ve moved twice and gotten married so no longer live in that particular building. Crazy it was revived after all these years.
