Screaming children at my apartment pool

Anonymous
Part of being a kid is screaming + shrieking in the pool during the dog days of Summer.

Let kids be kids.

You probably did the same thing too when you were younger....

OMG this is one my biggest annoyances! I live in an apt that does not have a lot of kids but I swear whenever I go to the usually empty pool some kids materialize and I can't for the life of me figure out why kids have to SCREAM at the pool! Shrieking and screaming when they could just be talking to each other in normal voices! So I put my earbuds in, at least I can do that when I am not in the water, and turn my music up kinda loud, but still, I hear them!

I kinda like kids, I work with kids, I actually had a few kids myself (now grown) but this shit is totally annoying!

Exactly- so tell your brat to can it, mmmkay?

We (myself, sibling, neighborhood kids) did NOT let out those high pitched shrieks when I was younger. We might have talked or yelled loudly ("The telephone pole is the goal!"), but not that ear-piercing squealing noise. I sympathize with OP.

How old are you? Buy a nice condo.

Condos aren't exempt from federal laws preventing discrimination against families with children. My coworker is the sole single man in a condo that was all singles and DINKs. Then everyone had babies. There are strollers and trikes lining the halls. He is the only one with a problem with it. Can't sell fast enough.

Shrieking is NEVER allowed.

So join a private sports club.

Sorry! I have no idea why my kids, who are otherwise well-behaved and calm, become whirling dervishes at the pool. I gave them what for this afternoon, I'd had enough.

Kids are allowed to scream and play with noodles in the pool. Yes, if you were looking for a pool to relax, this would be very annoying.

Maybe talk you ypu aprartment complex and suggest an adult only time? This is what our pool does. It is only a couple times a week, but it is heavenly (and I have a kid)

Go to a library for peace and quiet.

Untrue.

Kids are kids, not miniature adults.

Right, and adults are adults, not just big kids. Somebody tell those shrieking kids to tone it down!
