It does not matter. If Trump resigns or is removed, the job of the next president will be to repair damage to the institutions. There will be no big political agenda. A lot of mending fences. The hope is that they can convince the public that Trump was aberration and that they can be trusted to govern at some point. |

NYTimes is now reporting that Don John Jr. got an email specifically saying the meeting would be about Russian government efforts to help the Trump campaign. Don John Jr was "eager" to get his hands on the information. What a little immoral treasonous creep. He knew what was up all along.

I'm as liberal as they come and can't stand Pence or Ryan or their policies and politics, and I would personally swear them into the office of president if I could. Don jr is totally fucked, Kushner and Manafort are very fucked and the only remaining question is how much Donald will do to try to protect them. It is also possible that much of this can be litigated as a NY State crime rather than Federal crime, thus obviating a Trump pardon opportunity. |
