Ok, Grandma. Keep polishing your gun in your rocking chair. |
Yes. And some of us got tired of it and left. Apparently others got tired of it and stayed and voted differently! |

It's funny how libs hate the poor when it effects them.
They hate that VA has a progressive tax system where the rich (NoVA) is taxed and the income is redistributed to the poor (the rest of VA). They want the meals tax. Even though it's one of the most regressive taxes possible, their love of big government beats their faux concern for the workers. and many more...it's a long list.... |
Haha so true. There is no shortage of hypocrisy. |
|
So, School Board wants a meals tax, meanwhile they are supplying laptops for EVERY kid in Chantilly pyramid--except K.
Please, someone, explain where the money is coming from. |
I keep hoping our schools don't issue laptops. Yuck. I'm not upset about the cost. Laptops can be very cheap. It would cost more to issue school books to every student in the Chantilly pyramid. |
When did this come about? |
|
They get massive budget increases every year, especially this year. But it's never enough. This year they are rolling in money so all the pet projects (like PP) are funded.
They ask for hundreds of millions in increases every year and when they don't get everything they want, they call it a "cut" Very dishonest. Don't worry, they'll plead "cuts" again next year and the cycle will repeat. |
Yes, the number of students increases every year, the number of students needing special services increases, and mandated benefits for teachers has been increased. So the budgetary needs increase. |
See slide 7 and 8 of the one on one presentation: http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/A9KKFW4E5724/$file/SP%20One%20to%20One%20Pilot%20Overview%20Final.pdf |
Thanks. So, the money is coming from funds. No additional expense, it says. Wow. And, they cry poor. |
Nope. Not close. Number of students this year is flat. 0 increase. There is absolutely no evidence the number of special needs students are increasing. "mandated benefits?", well, write your legislator and ask to hold benefits flat. The benefits are great now, no need to increase. Even so, we had a very large increase this year, and mark my words, they will be back for more. You can't feed a bureaucrat enough money. |
What about all the kids who cannot speak English? |
I don't think that the benefits themselves are increasing. It's that the state is requiring local school boards to contribute a larger %. |
decreasing actually.... |
