Are we allowed to say "Islamic terrorists"?

Except this part?

"I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds."

I should have clarified that this was because she was sexually immoral. That New Testament God sounds like a real winner.

And these words of Christ?

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.'"

Those were Jesus' words about Jezebel, I believe, as a warning before the final judgment. Even some Christians can understand that biblical passages were designed to instill fear in the reader/listener.

not exactly kind, loving words

like father, like son, I suppose

main message - Whores and their children go to hell.

The main message of the New Testament is far from what you've written here, and Jesus loved children. He also loved and healed people from all walks of life. I encourage you to read and study all the words of Jesus in the New Testament. For the best of reasons, they've brought me and many others great peace, comfort, and hope.

If you don't like what the bible has to say, feel free to find a different religion. Please spare us the lies about it all being rainbows and lollipops. It's violent, yet millions upon millions of Christians see the mission of helping others as their task in life. They manage to go about it without shooting or suicide bombing. Why? Because anyone who isn't heavily brainwashed can see killing a woman's children because she disobeyed is an immoral thing to do. As the centuries roll on, our morality is evolving. The holy books are barbaric and antiquated.

I posted the scripture above, but not the "father like son" response.

The point I was making is about violence in holy books influencing religion-based violence today.

"[French Muslims] are doubly affected, because this crime touched one of our countrymen and because this crime was carried out in the name of our religion," Oubrou told RTL radio.

Then they should promote change in the scriptures they follow. To remove the call for violence parts. It's hypocritical to denounce acts by extremist while supporting the motivating source of their violence.

They're the only religion that should change their text? Do you really think that's making people kill others?

This.

They say their terrorist organization is, and I quote, "Islamic." Can we all at least agree they believe it's in the name of Islam?

Blaming it on a few passages is a lazy explanation. It's easier than considering the social and economic difficulties that turn disenfranchised people into monsters.

Religion is the excuse that power hungry assholes use to motivate people with nothing to lose. All of you blaming religion are falling for the ruse. Stop being so unbelievably gullible. You're not 5 years old. Use some critical thought.

No. Yes.

Not including those few passages as a contributing factor is just as lazy.

Perhaps you should tell suicide attackers and bombers to not be so gullible. Your failing to understand that although most people would not be so gullible, many are.
