Engagement ring size in your social circle?

To be honest, in my circle I don’t think anyone wears theirs so I don’t even know. Coworkers, it looks like maybe under a carat.

OP is talking about RING SIZE. Like how fat are their fingers, doh. Size, a number like 6 or 7.

I single solid gold band looks classy on wealthy women.

I feel like they have gotten a lot bigger for those who are getting married now. I am 40 and my friends who are recently engaged have 2ct plus rings. Mine is just over 1

Don’t know since most don’t wear them. In UMC circles they seem to be passé. I never had one because I thought it was gross anyway and stupid to wear a fancy ring 99.9% of the time anyway even if you didn’t have a problem with the history, geopolitical implications, financial waste of it.

Same. Looks nice on anybody.

Been married 20 years. Never had a diamond, just a vintage Cartier infinity ring. Taste thing, not a money thing. I don't care what my circle wears and it's a mix.

It’s not “taste” to get some cliché striver brand piece. You probably have a love bracelet and van cleef necklace too lol

Mine is 1 ct but honestly I find it ostentatious. I either wear a plain gold band or some fun vintage pieces.

LOL my ring is from EBay from the early 2000s and I don't have any other name brand jewelry. Striver? LOL I am a DC native.

My daughter is 30 and probably getting engaged soon. She said she and her friends get lab made diamonds. They get them for ethical reasons, but I imagine they can get bigger due to the price difference.

What's with all the engagement ring questions lately?

This. It’s very basic B

Good quality 5ct lab made diamonds wholesale around $1,000 now. Its getting to the point where the metal used in the ring will be worth more than any stone thats in it.

This is partly because lab diamonds are so readily available and SO high-quality. I have a vintage diamond eternity band that my husband gave me as a milestone gift (we have plain wedding bands, no engagement ring involved) and I adore it, but if I were shopping for something sparkly that was new I would 100% be buying a lab diamond.

Moissanite is also in the mix (and lovely), but you can tell the difference between moissanite and diamond by eye if you know what you're looking at.

Lab diamonds are cheap and perfect
