Maybe not. Henderson is destroying Wilson for who knows what reason; maybe if Hardy just keeps its uniforms and continues to give off fumes smelling of IB-repellant, DCPS will leave it alone, and it will continue to be a great safe place for earnest kids. |
I actually think the majority of DCPS schools have uniforms. Someone should start that thread and try to find out. |
Except from the DCPS POV it is not really a predicament - the info from this thread confirms the forecasts in last year's - Hardy is slowly, but inexorably, flipping to mostly IB. Its only a predicament for IB folks with current 4th and 5th graders - at least those among them who do not consider the current state of Hardy adequate. That is not particularly a predicament for Hardy or DCPS. |
No. The academics appear to be continuing to get stronger, there are increases in "true" IB, in feeder pct - all changes that tend to feed on themselves in an upward spiral. I really don't think uniforms can stop that. |
But is she barricaded with an AK-47 in the school as if all the IB families are trying to invade Hardy but she will only be dragged out by her dead body? Or is she sitting in her classroom seething at the very idea of IB families, ready to snap at their children if they dare to enroll? That, pp is sarcasm, in case you're not sure. And FFS, do you really think she is obsessed with your goddamned family after 10 years? (If she was even obsessed to begin with - which I'm sure she was not.) Man, the conspiracy theories on the Hardy threads are starting to sound like the stuff that comes out of the Truthers or the Birthers. |
More accurately stated, the predicament for many upper NW families is that they are frustrated in not having access to "the highly desired schools" in their area for their kids' middle school years. They find Hardy lacking compared to Deal. Maybe some day that will change, but it will take hard work and change to get there. |
| Are we to believe that the topic of discontinuing uniforms has never once come up at the Hardy PTA meetings? Really? |
Yes, really. I have been to or heard about almost every Hardy PTO meeting for the last five years. Uniforms are not an issue that current Hardy parents - or their children that are at Hardy - spend any amount of time thinking about. That's why if you care about it, you should attend a PTO meeting or talk to Principal Pride and raise it as an issue. Don't be under the impression that anyone of import reads this anonymous forum. |
If you join the Hardy PTA you will be entitled to that information. |
