What should Israel do with Gaza?

Anonymous
I appreciate the last few posts insofar as some unabashedly set forth a hard-headed pro-Israel position that defends the expulsion and murder of Palestinians as part of a land grab and its aftermath.

Rational people could argue that the region has been contested for centuries and that whoever has the stronger weapons of war at the moment will prevail.

It still leaves me unwilling to support a US policy of strengthening Israel's hand at the expense of Palestinians. I don't see how it benefits my family or is beneficial to the world as a whole. Let the Israelis fend for themselves and stop assuming they can rely on the USA for money and technology. The Isreali Jews are no more important to me than any other minority ethnic group in Europe, Asia or Africa.

To be clear: the future of Israel is not on solid ground. First, it's inevitable that its heretofore militarily-challenged enemies will catch up to it. We see this already in the recent succession of "draws" that Israel has fought to: Lebanon, Gaza, and Gaza again. The Israeli military doesn't seem to be what it used to be. Every incursion brings a line about, well, we were surprised about this or that. Why the surprise? What else do you do all day other than focus on the enemy? Second, in a decade or so, the national GOP will be reduced to a regional party. The U.S. will be one nation under Democratic rule forevermore (not making a value judgment here, just a solid observation). Without a viable GOP, economic and military support for Israel will dry up. This, combined with the increasingly successful BDS movement, is the long game that Israel's enemies can have faith in (I mean that in a nonreligious sense). Think tanks, lobbying groups, etc., etc., study these issues endlessly. But that's it in a nutshell, folks.

This gives me hope

What's it like being Muslim? Well, it's hard to find a decent halal pizza place and occasionally there is a hashtag calling for your genocide...

Israel should fund Mormons and other missionary groups to Christianize the Gaza.

There are already Christians in Gaza. There are Christian Palestinians. One of the many ironies of this conflict is that American Christians who support Israel for religious reasons frequently don't know that that they are on the opposite side of other Christians.

Here are photos of a Greek Orthodox church in Gaza that opened its doors to displaced Muslims:

Land grab was a mistake. Gaza should never have happened or been created.

Actually, no later than this morning, Israeli warplanes bombed a house of a Palestinian Christian family in Gaza City. 1 reportedly killed.

Almost 40% of Palestinians are Christian. This is not a Jewish Muslim conflict. Just a real estate one.

Huh? Gaza was created in 1948 by the UN. It was actually larger than it is now.

Palestinian "martyrs" blowing up Israeli buses and restaurants targeting and killing innocent Israeli civilians is okay but Israel, warning civilians to leave, and then trying to hit military targets is a war crime? Give me a fucking break!!

Those are war crimes too. But I don't recall them blowing up any restaurants of late.

Because, thank Allah, they have been unable to due to Israeli security!
