What mysteries would you like to see finally solved someday?

I believe the theory is that the cause of death was the head wound, which could have been accidental. The garrote would have been after the fact to make it look like an abduction killing. If the brother inflicted the head wound (intentionally or accidentally) Patsy stepped in to cover it up. The garrote was fashioned using a paintbrush from Patsy's art set an the bristle part was discovered in its place (in a place unlikely discoverable by an intruder) while half of the stick part was never discovered.

Why would they cover it up? What could legally happen to a 9 yo esp if it was an accident? Why would a parent abuse the body of one of their children after she died?

And for all you skeptics out there: the most damning evidence comes from the Ramsey's housekeeper. She testified that the blanket that jonbenet was found in had been in the dryer.

Also, a Swiss Army knife was found where the body was. The knife had been taken away from the brother and put in the linen closet. An intruder would never have known where it was. Jonbenet had wet the bed that night and Patsy would have gone to the linen closet to get clean sheets.

I thought the cause of death was strangulation, no?

The sexual evidence can be explained by the bed wetting theory that Patsy roughly wiped Jonbenet in a fury prior to accidentally or intentionally inflicting the fatal head wound. Or something much more sinister occurred at the hands of the brother. Or, it's possible that an innocent accident occured at the fault of the brother and the evidence of sexual abuse was fabricated to misguide police.

Do you really have to ask why the mother would cover up even an accidental death caused by the brother?

She was found with a garrote (some sort of noose-like strangulation apparatus) but the head wound was likely fatal. I don't believe strangulation was proven to be the cause of death. I don't believe the head wound was conclusively found to be the sole cause of death but it was certainly a "fatal" head wound. Sort of like shooting a man falling from a 50 story building on the way down.

Now, I will admit, there is one thing throwing me for a loop. Some time after the initial medical examiner's report, it was later discovered that there were marks similar to those caused by a taser. This has not been conclusively proven, but it really throws a wrench in things.

How about: they bought a taser for protection. The brother was playing with it and tried it out on his sister. She fell and hit her head causing her death. Then the family did the cover up.

Because he knows you will do it for him?

so who killed jon benet? (by the way i meant i agree about wanting to know, not that i think i know what happened)

Her mom just as the OP said. I think it was an accident but I think she did it.

How can anyone think it was her mom? A known sex offender (possibly child molester- can't remember) lived nearby and was seen around her house in weeks before. Also, Jon Benet had taser marks on her body. This sex offender was found to have a taser gun in his house. She was also sexually assaulted. She probably wet her bed b/c she was so frightened by this guy who came to steal her away from her bed.

Awful case. It was not the family. There was a documentary a few month back. It was another man, pedophile.

Who wipes their child so roughly from a pee accident (or ever) that it could be misconstrued as sexual assault?

Intelligent alien life is probably saying the same thing about us except they are also probably more evolved and civilized.

I'm not buying it was the parents. It was sadistic and sexual. Killers who accidentally kill someone they know don't stage or otherwise disturb bodies. They cover them and eventually hide them.

I agree with this. It doesn't make sense that the brother killed her and it was covered up. They could have said it was an accident and been done with it. He had no history of mental illness, the police would have accepted that - a head wound is not hard for a 6 year old to get from her big brother.
