No kidding. This cannot have been accidental. The US men's Olympic team and staff has no media training? They were clueless as the high level of political divisiveness represented by Patel? What a waste of a gold medal moment IMO, but it seems that this is what they wanted.

Then there’s also a Huffington Post writer who is offended simply by seeing the US flag so it’s not just one group of people making this political.
It’s also not like sitting US presidents haven’t called to congratulate gold winning teams before. It’s traditional.

As someone orginially from NYC. I have known of him since the 1970s. His Mom and Fred lived not far from me and their house was right next to my college.

I even went to a NJ Generals Game when he owned that. Doug Flutie was QB, he did wrestlemania events, did tons of boxing matches in Atlantic City, had many PGA golf tournaments at his courses.

He is very well known in the Sports world long before even the Apprentice stuff and his run to be POTUS.

I recall Tom Brady got heat once about his relationship. He was like I got first big contract when young. I wanted to buy a condo in NYC. Who sells condos to rich people well he does, I got introduced, we had lunch, he invited me to play Golf at his course, I like Golf, I played with him I did not buy a condo from him but he gave me good advice as he knows real estate. So there it is. This is almost similar. Sports people have a relationship with him outside of WH. Because for over 50 years he hires athletes and even owned a team.

One football player he is friends with had played golf with him over a dozen times at his course. He was like I like golf, he owns a golf course like once a year he invited me to play golf with him for free, he buys me lunch for free at his club, we have a nice day. To be clear any Billionaire who owns a golf course I am available for free golf and lunch. I laughed at that.
