Did Vance throw his Hindu under the bus for not being a born again Christian today?

Please don't feel sorry for the woman who stood by while her husband said that Haitians were eating cats and dogs for political expediency because any person with half a brain knows that's a sign that he's a scumbag who will do anything to get and stay in power.

DP - I've never felt and would never feel sorry for Usha f***ing Vance.

This is a woman who, after her husband said "childless cat ladies shouldn't vote," went on television and condescendingly said "He was being glib, but I actually try to listen to the merits of his arguments," as if there's merit to the argument that women without children shouldn't vote.

She is a complete POS just like her husband.

That’s right, I forgot about that one!

It was more her tone. "I actually try to listen to the merits..." like the rest of us are idiots getting worked up over nothing.

Oh, and she's ugly.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say op probably meant to write “his Hindu wife”.

Since when is Mississippi a Catholic hotspot?

It's not, which is why he keeps saying "Christian" -- he knows his audience. Catholics always say Catholic, even though it is one of many Christian sects.

It's the largest branch of Christianity, not a sect. What a strange comment.

she will convert. Hindu is not really a religion more a culture, and she already abandoned it.

Vance has already thrown his supposed Catholic faith under the bus and is going full white nationalist evangelical.

Yup. Being Catholic is cultural, and he is evangelical thick and through.

Vance desperately wants to be president. He and his handlers have come to the realization that his wife is a liability for no other reason that she isn't white with the Christian label attached. And that, my friends, isn't going down well with the crowd he needs for the nomination. He's laying the groundwork to dump her ass.

Are we sure that's how he'll do it? I don't like her at all, but genuinely feel a little concerned for her safety.

The Catholic undercurrent of all this mixed marriage talk is very strange.

Erika grew up Catholic and married Charlie, a staunch evangelical. Candace Owens says Charlie had found his way to Catholicism before he was murdered. (To be fair, Candace also says Charlie was murdered by Mossad, so. There are a lot of conspiracies coming from her camp right now.) Erika was seen clutching a rosary when leaving the tarmac after JD and Usha brought her home from Utah on AF2.

JD grew up evangelical and converted to Catholicism before his Senate campaign.

Perhaps they bond over their mutual plight of being Catholics in mixed marriages.

I will say I think this may have started weeks ago.

Usha notoriously dresses quite poorly and doesn't spend a lot of time on personal grooming. However, she has recently (like within the last month) started dressing significantly better, spending more time on her hair, and wearing makeup.

Now, it could be that she's almost a year into her role as a public figure, has gotten acclimated, and feels confident dressing up.

But how convenient that she starts making herself look better mere weeks after her husband's friend was murdered leaving his wife, who is much better looking than Usha (although also styles herself poorly, but it's the type of look a cornfed boy like JD would be into) single.

Food for thought.

Fwiw I do think Erika is a very attractive woman. She has a great body and pretty features. Her styling is what's off. She lacks polish or sophistication. She is all Utah curls and no-dimension blonde and tacky stripper nails and heavy eyeliner. I just said in the Trump women fashion thread earlier today, the Super Bowl rings on each finger are ridiculous for a 37 year old businesswoman.

But that is the MAGA look, and that is what JD sees as a "proper" wife who can get him ahead politically.

I don't think he has a physical type, per se. I think his type is whatever he feels can get him ahead. When he was trying to sell his book, a mousy wife benefitted him. It gave credence to his tale of being an Appalachian boy made good; he had grown up, gone to Yale, and met a woman who was smart and focused on her studies instead of her appearance.

Now he's MAGA and a mousy wife, let alone one who isn't white, is actually a hinderance. (You and I don't care that Usha is Indian, but a lot of MAGAs sure do. And his defense to that was "Well, no, she isn't white, but she's a good mom" lol.)

I have long said he would leave Usha and newly single Erika is the perfect candidate for her replacement. I don't think anything dark will happen like someone else weirdly suggested. They will all spin it as "Mr. and Mrs. Vance grew apart under the spotlight," Usha's camp will try to spin it as she just couldn't support his MAGA politics but she wanted to make it work for the children, JD's camp will spin it as she was no longer interested in supporting his political career.

Again. If these were any other people I'd say it's ridiculous. But JD and Erika both have shown they do what they need to do to get ahead. And normally I'd say someone who looks like Erika wouldn't look twice at JD, but he'll probably be the nominee in 2028 so that changes things. She's savvy. And those pics of her hugging him with her hands in his hair were a bit much...

Yes, frankly I was surprised that Vance pointed out his wife is not Christian. There are a lot of wackos out there. It’s not something I would highlight.

Nah because he’ll need her alive to watch their kids that he will be too brown for the base.

He’s laying the groundwork to say that he loves her so much but that she just refused to accept Jesus into her heart so he had to leave her. It’s like a phony version of the Jane Fonda/Ted Turner divorce.

The current president is thrice married with a multitude of affairs including a porn star. So, yeah! I see no reason why JD boy won't do it .
