I disagree. If you have enough money to have a financial advisor to manage trusts for your kids, why wouldn’t the financial advisor place some of the kid’s money through a 529? These lists are missing Roland Park, Severna Park, Annapolis, Gibson Island, Clarksville, and Davidsonville. While they may be more oriented towards Baltimore, they’re still part of the state of Maryland and not super far from DC.

You have to go to the movies, shopping, out to eat sometime. It’s a drag always having to deal with 495 traffic to go to VA and anywhere worthwhile on the weekends. Otherwise the only options are to go to Bethesda, which gets old after a while.

The hyperbole. There’s movie theaters in Bethesda, Rockville, and north Bethesda depending on where in Potomac you are. There’s no shopping you can’t do on the Maryland side. I go into DC way more often than I go into NoVa

All these theaters are dumps compared to the theaters in The Boro, Tysons 2 and Mosaic. I have never seen a crappier, overpriced theater than iPic in Pike and Rose.

Why are nova trolls always like this? It’s almost comical, like you’re are given a script when moving to nova. I don’t think about nova at all when living in moco and life is good

It’s not just movie theaters, it’s literally every amenity you can go to that’s nicer.

Loudoun, Fairfax, and Falls Church are three of the Top 10 richest counties in the country based on per capita income. More per capita income brings nicer, and more amenities and usually means less crime and a higher quality of life. This isn’t an edgy opinion. It’s just how things go.

You have barely any nature parks. MoCo has a neighborhood park nearly every .5 mile.

Just spent several days at a friend’s place in Chevy Chase for Thanksgiving. She lives in Brookdale which is in Chevy Chase MD and I’ll admit I was slightly excited to visit after always reading about the prestige of this neighborhood. It was not what I expected? Clean and quiet but the houses all looked old and many yards were unkempt. We took a walk after the big meal and I was surprised River rd cut right through her neighborhood. We live in Del Ray now and are contemplating a move to MD for various reasons and was not impressed by Chevy Chase.

Brookdale isn’t one of the particularly nice spots. Nothing wrong with it but far from the most ideal in CCMD.

The thing about the "prestige" around here is it isn't like it's tied to anything demonstrative, like good views or a beach. Even the houses in many of the "Old Money" neighborhoods are run down. It's remarkable. Like literally overpaying for housing to live next to other people who paid too much for housing.
