SSFS sent a message they are honoring all financial aid awards for next school year.

What happens when Monday comes around and there's more crumbs with no real plan?

I wish the best for you, but that's a lot of money to throw away on a promise, not to mention your child's education at stake.

I don't get why people feel entitled to come on these forums and tell others what they think they should do.

I'm angry at SSFS and there's a lot to vent about in these forums. For example - the BOT MUST GO! But coming on there to tell people what to do is condescending. Instead focus on what you think SSFS should do rather than what parents should do!

Because it’s a public forum. People are offering advice and opinions. You’re welcome to ignore them.

That's exactly what is happening. The leadership will absolutely change.

Please don't spread rumors.

SSFS is expecting that some students will leave, but this isn't true.

To my knowledge, nobody has asked for advice on this particular forum. It's pretty obvious when forums are started because people are seeking advice. This wasn't one of them.

+1
The OP couldn't possible know that "everyone" will send their kid somewhere new the following year. It's so irritating when people take "what I've heard" from their own pipeline of parents and then grossly overgeneralize that to claim it is "everyone".

Everyone is figuring it out. Path will open.

I get why you are being defensive, but you're getting angry at the wrong people. The BoT that got you into this mess is who you should focus your ire on. I know you don't want advice though.

But you gave the advice anyway. Clearly you didn't read my post where I said the BOT MUST GO. My ire is with the BOT. Doesn't change my opinion that people who are posting advice about what they think families should do (which is a highly personal decision) are condescending. Nobody on this forum has asked for advice. It's real simple to find the forums where posters are seeking advice.

You can just… scroll on. You are angry. We get it. But this is a message board. Message boards are full of people offering opinions. You can chastise people all you want, but you can’t control what people post. You’re not the arbiter.

Wait till this guy finds out that it likely isn’t the current board’s fault. A problem like this started with decisions made years ago.

Channel your anger elsewhere.

You lost this argument when you assumed from an anonymous post of written words that a poster was anger. And when you failed to distinguish between opinions and advice. The call was for people to stop giving advice since this isn't a forum that was asking for it. The call wasn't for people to stop posting opinions about the topic of SSFS closing and now staying open. Move along.

Are you invested in SSFS in some way? Parent? Alumni?

That’s just silly. Ppl advise or give their opinion whatever you call it - that’s the reason for this forum. No one is saying you have to agree or take advice - you’re free to give your own opinion. Why do you come here? Just to hear people who only agree with you?
