A lot depends on if the executive still follows the courts. The legislative branch has shown no signs of being a check. They’ve been verbally threatening not to follow court orders for a few days. Threatening judges. Project 2025 says ignore the court rulings and proceed with your policies.

Are we crazy for taking them at their word? Where do other people find the confidence to believe they wouldn’t actually do it?

Really something that reducing the size of the federal workforce and ending ridiculous spending by USAID = the end of democracy.

If this is so obvious, why won’t he just propose these cuts to congress so they can pass a law cutting them? Why does he insist on doing it illegally?

Because congress is absolutely worthless and they can’t legislate. I am absolutely furious that because of them we are in this situation. The goal of Trump has been stated, to remove $2 Trillion from our spending. To have our debt 3% of GDP. Paying down our debt will have a massive positive impact. Will it be easy? No, but we must get our fiscal house in order.

Is it really 2025 and you still think Trump cares about the US debt?

Really?

He doesn't care. He wants to line his own pockets.

He didn’t care about the debt his first term. In fact he raised it really high. And MAGAts still voted for him a second time!

Realistically speaking, we won't know till next yr. We still don't know what else will develop and we don't know what the courts may or may not do to allow current decisions to stand. Remember, this admin's strategy is to put everything up and see what happens so it's impossible to know how things turn out - it'll just be chaos for a long time but the market u think is not going to just react chaotically, it can't.

That’s not necessarily true. If all these layoffs go though and retail stays down, then the market will react, no matter how much fabricated data they put out. Will it be chaotic? Maybe not, but it will react quickly. People will see the market as truth, not government. We may or may not be able to claw our way back because Canada, Mexico, and Europe know we’re untrustworthy.

Who will be left at State to administer these programs? You think some random person is just going to flip on a computer and this all gets done?

I hope YOUR economy collapses. You all couldn’t just be content with your bureaucratic, do-nothing, $140,000 a year jobs—which the rest of us had to pay for.

No, you had to use the bureaucratic state to push left-wing ideology on the country in ways that were unquestionably illegal. Remember when you guys got military members fired for not taking the vaccine? (“No one elected Elon!” Interesting, now what about Fauci?)

So I don’t really care that you’re going to have to sell your Arlington home and go back to whatever LCOL town you’re originally from and try to start a new career at age 51. Sorry, not sorry.

Don’t worry darlin… if we go down NOBODY will be left standing, hope your bumf*** town has enough funds for your unemployed a$$, that’s how economy works typically . Also, now the rest of you can pay billions of dollars ( 20 billion paid so far to Elon) in subsidies to one man, your children can also work as his slaves.

We are the educated ones, we will find a way out here or somewhere else, you guys won’t even be able to afford Walmart, that’s a promise. At that time you will beg for “left wing ideology” problems. You want to get mean? You don’t have the power or money to make a difference. Get back to the meat packing plant, those chickens aren’t gonna pack themselves.
