Democrats who are upset

It was horrifying. It’s as if they believe Harris won. I found the panel shocking.

+1000. Harris did not run on trans issues. Neither did the majority of Democrats.

Republicans brought up trans issues in every campaign rally and falsely claimed she ran on it, even to the point of making up bogus slogans like "Trump is for you, Harris is for they/them" or whatever the hell it was.

It was effective, but it was a lie and sadly tens of millions of Americans did not know they were being manipulated like that.

I’m sorry but no. “Not running on trans issues” just meant they didn’t talk about it. The table was set by everything that happened prior to the campaign. You cannot campaign in a vacuum. They said nothing and voter (reasonably) assumed that the Democrats would continue the status quo.

This! The Dems need to run people like Seth Molten who actively say stuff like “I do not want trans athletes in women’s sports.” They need to stop continually being either supportive or going along with every single far left cultural issue because they are so desperate to never be called a bigot. Some of these politicians would rather marginalize their party and get a monster like Trump elected that be called a bigot by literally one person on the internet. It’s pathetic.

Be strident in your economic populism. Most Americans are working class and want better pay, lower inflation, and lower healthcare. These same Americans are not for all the nutjob left wing social issues though. Be Bernie on the economy, have a tough but anti war foreign policy, and be a centrist on social issues and you will win every single election. These pro corporate Dems who have far left social platforms are going to lose every time.

They'll do nothing differently. They don't get what just happened.

They are so tone deaf. All the crazy policies that made zero sense didn't work. We MUST appeal to common sense.
ZERO chance Dems retake the Senate next cycle. Look at the map and retirements. Dems have a slim chance for the House. It is clear things will be put in place to make the battle to get the house an uphill battle. The only shot is 4 years from now.

This is just a perfect picture of what is wrong with the world and why we are completely screwed.

Racism and sexism is exactly why Kamala lost, and the racists and sexists loudly proclaim "calling us racists and sexists racist and sexist only makes us want to be more racist and sexist!"

So our choices are placate the racists and sexists (and by doing so give up any chance to improve racism and sexism) or let the racists and sexists run the asylum.
lol literally learning nothing in real-time. Vance2028 it is.

Oh look it's literally what I just described...

I should clarify. I'm a black woman. I will be voting for Vance if he runs in 2028 if the Democrats keep up this delusion. Also, Kamala couldn't form a coherent sentence. To deny that is to deny reality

Say what you will about Harris but she was a HELL of a lot more coherent than Trump.

But I agree, Democrats need to significantly dial back on identity politics and redirect their primary attention to the kitchen-table issues - affordable, healthy groceries, safe and affordable medicines, being able to afford an apartment or buy a home and not having wall street jack up real estate prices, good jobs for the working class, improving our school outcomes, having access to good healthcare, getting corporations and the rich to pay their fair share, safety net for Americans who are struggling, dealing with the opiate and meth crisis, a strong economy, strengthening our alliances with other countries and so on.

Identity politics is what cost Democrats the election. Anyone who disagrees with that is seriously out of touch. I have no problem with progressives running in safe, deep blue districts but they CAN NOT be driving the bus on the bigger picture issues, because, though well-intentioned, they've already driven us into the ditch.

The DNC needs to know this and needs to address it.

I agree, but the entire DNC leadership is wildly out of touch. I don’t know if you watched any of the recent DNC election videos but it was absolutely painful. The speeches sounded like something from 2020. I thought it was astonishing. They were operating as if the 2024 election didn’t happen.

The DNC needs to stay the heck out of the way from this point forward so that the American people can choose their Dem nominee in fair, open, and competitive primary in 2028. The DNC and their mega donors have overstepped their boundaries big time during recent election cycles and they need to be checked.

The DNC and RNC are private entities made up of mostly public officials who have a primary role of sorting the flow of billions of dollars to public official campaigns- what could go wrong?

Yes this ties back to cancel culture in a big way. The excesses of left cancel culture ca 2020 were just really brutal.

I will not do this.

I do not give two f s about your uterus, zero. I and many others care about placing a roof over my family's heads and feeding them. Apparently you and your uterus just don't get how unimportant you really are in the true scheme of daily life.

Ok? many people literally depend on birth control to be able to continue to house and feed their existing families.

Stop having sex. Easy peasy.

Np. Most abortions are done because women and their families want children but there are miscarriages or other birth defects that would cause death to either mother and baby.

Why don't get that?

According to a May 2024 report from Brookings, 95% of abortions are done for an unplanned pregnancy and 86% of the women obtaining abortions are unmarried. Fewer than 1% of abortions are done because of rape or incest. Fewer than 1% of abortions are done because the life of the mother or fetus is at risk. About 2% of abortions are done for other medical or mental health reasons.

I work in healthcare and the majority of abortions are because of MEN.
The man disappeared. The man isn't "stepping up." The man isn't ready for a child and is insisting.
Easy abortions = consequence-free hookups for men.

republicans have success b/c they put the opinions of their deplorable, selfish etc etc voters as their starting point. democrats act like an all knowing parent who is constantly trying to gently educate their auduence to be their "better" selves. voters are adults- they have opinions about stuff- LISTEN to them !! its a representative form of government and democrats act like its a benevolent dictatorship while they are running for office- do what you want once you are in office a la fetterman but like him, cater to what the voters want while you are courting their vote. noone is going to hold you to it!

if you look at the ads- kamala is for they/them, trump is for you ! was a blatent lie but at least they pandered to the idea that voters concerns and fears should be heard b/c money aside .. voters count. and the democrats sound like jesus at his most insufferable "look to those who are less, protect the weak BLAH BLAH BLAH" not realising that the growing inequality is making every voter feel vulnerable.

It’s hard to listen to them when they want to take rights away from me, my daughters and my friends. There is stark difference in moral opinion.

So are things better THIS way?

By this logic, since Trump didn't explicitly say anything about Naziism it's safe to assume that he would be a Nazi. Your logic, don't argue with me about it.

This. Fight fire with fire.

Or, instead of misinformation, just get the damned truth out to the American people. There should be nonstop ads and Tik Toks about all of these executive orders and the bribes.

Whose truth?

What hill do you suggest dying on? The white working man who wants to pretend he’s millionaire at the voting booth while living out the sixth generation of TV-addicted trailer trash in 40 years? Those people are unreachable.

And yes, I’m a snob. You want to vote and be a citizen, educate yourself and quit it with the willful ignorance.

Become the party of the working class again.

Mandate e-verify
Support policies that stop illegal immigration
Support limits on birthright citizenship
Repeal h-1b and OPT

It really is common sense. Do what you can to help your fellow neighbors.

This. Dems stopped being a party representing working class long ago. Nothing they did during many years of them being in power has helped ordinary people get ahead, quite the opposite. The culmination was a massive transfer of wealth due to Covid measures, and a "culture revolution" on the co-tails of lockdowns and frightened population shaken by the "killer virus" and willing to do anything to "go back to normal". People were fired and silenced if they spoke out or didn't want to go along with the pronouns, identity politics, BLM riots criticism, questioning Covid measures, toddler masking, ridiculous and discriminatory vax mandates/vaxxports, etc, etc. The outcome we are facing now is no surprise and totally predictable.
