**Don't forget the "full time". Maintain those home duty stations FULL TIME please and thank you.

And if they need to lease space, they have to go through competitive bidding, which takes a while.

Does it? It seems like they got the wording wrong and half-assed this one.

I don't think they got the wording wrong. I think "remote work" has a a more negative connotation with the MAGA base, and it was used deliberately. What that means for teleworkers, who knows. Based on this wording, I don't see my preferred flexibility - situational telework - going away. I'll go in five days no problem as long as I have the flexibility on either end of the day to telework for an hour or so.

It seems the EO was written for the MAGA base but does not actually use the terminology that the federal government uses.

This is both probably true, and definitely irrelevant.

I mean he could always rewrite another one if this one doesn’t accomplish what was intended.

I'm not entirely opposed to return to work, but there needs to be some limit on how far you have to travel. Our office moved way out to Maryland, so via public transportation it would take 1.5 to 2 hours to get there.

So…

I've got nothing in my inbox. Given my office is gone, they're going to have to give instructions.

Anyone have any insight on what’s going to happen at FDA?

Which center? Nothing from CDER but we are already in the office 2x per PP.

FDA doesn’t even have an acting commissioner yet, as far as anyone knows.

We are already at 5 office days per PP and just went through extensive remodeling to install hoteling workstations and an elaborate ticketing system to use them. A third of our staff are IPAs in any case. No idea how this will all play out.

I don't think home is going to count as this is implemented, and I'm a little worried about how full time will be construed too. Like will situational telework for appointments disappear? What about schedule flexibility? Already got the "hurry up and wait" email from my SES, we just don't know yet.

Your proposal would just incentivize everyone to live far away.

You can grandfather people in. You're not incentivizing it if it's a move someone made a year ago -- or in this case, if they didn't even move, the agency did.
