You sound like you work at syphax. The quickest way to kill public support for public education is to demand less school. |
Yup. They’ve been waiting on Fairfax to go first. |
Don't think they are closing. The county just sent out a note that 99% of school bus routes are oassable. |
An announcement would be great- I guess as an FCPS parent I’ll assume open and call a sub. |
I think they are waiting on DCPS as weather and rows are more similar (though yes I know a lot of staff may live in Fairfax) |
APS YOUR WEBSITE SAYS NORMAL. But today was not normal so this is terrible. |
I'm curious if they're waiting to see how many teachers call out. Because when this happened in 2022, they said they were open and then had to walk it back. |
APS will open with a 2 hour delay but some bus will slide on an icy hill and lots of teachers will call out so parents will be in an uproar that schools didn’t close. |
Closed tomorrow. |
Closed. Officially. |
Good grief |
Wrong decision and other parts of the county said school bus routes are ready: https://x.com/ArlingtonDES/status/1876765871630110841?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Arlington Department of Environmental Services @ArlingtonDES Young people of Arlington: 99%+ of school bus routes are now considered passable. We apologize for the inconvenience. #ArlWX https://arlingtonva.us/Government/Departments/PSCEM/Emergency-Preparedness/Weather/Snow-and-Ice/Snow-Removal-Phases |
w00t — it’s fun for my kid. I’m okay with it. |
Most APS teachers can’t afford to live in Arlington, so they live further out in places that are still digging out |
I know, which is why I said that. |
