The efforts of MAGA to play gotcha with Kamala Harris are hilarious. Your candidate is a billionaire born with a silver spoon in his mouth who never had a job outside the family business and who lies every time he opens his mouth and you’re trying to prove that 1) Harris grew up wealthy and 2) is a lier about working in menial jobs as a young person. I didn’t read that garbage book. But I would assume that as a kid who had a bit of a rough home life, he would actually be working starting at age 16. I certainly did starting at age 15 and I’m only a year older than Vance.

I agree with this to some point. That said, I’d be able to dredge up some old coworkers/managers etc who remembered me if I had resources and tried hard enough and cared enough to do so (I’m 47). Or even an old photo? Or friends vouching for her? My high school & college friends definitely knew where I worked and visited me at work at times. I wonder why she doesn’t do that- because it sure would make Trump look foolish (and would be a headline at least for a day).

That said, this whole issue is dumb.

Wanda Kagan, a close friend of Ms. Harris’s when they attended high school together in Montreal, said she recalled Ms. Harris having worked at McDonald’s around that time.

Answering questions by email, Ms. Kagan said that Ms. Harris’s mother, who died in 2009, had told Ms. Kagan about the summer job years ago. Ms. Kagan said she herself had also worked at one of the fast-food chain’s many franchises in those years.”
