Most players who were with them before and those new ones who are good players and attended both tryouts made it. Take a chill pill.

Why is this futsal thing after U12, U13 such a big deal?

I think you bring up a decent point. The idea is to incorporate futsal skills for younger players to help develop ball control skills and after about 13 its not considered as helpful.

But, futsal is picking up in popularity and the demand from older kids to play is increasing. We do have a US Futsal national team and there are professional futsal clubs.

I think you will start to see kids pick sides about this time, more futsal or more outdoor. No sure its a big deal, but some clubs and coaches will still push both. And or they will still push everything soccer related for that matter. You just got to know where your kid is at and figure out what's best for them and draw the line. My kids knees and heals were hurting too much, were dropped futsal this year against the recommendation of our club coach.

The more futsal you play, the better control you have with the ball. See South American teams; much better ball control. I think they complement each other very well.

Brazilian clubs and academies play only futsal, no outdoors, till around U12
Then at U13 they hybrid then fully only outdoors at U14 onwards

Small sides training games outside replaces futsal.
Then there are players who focus on futsal only.

Does anyone know how they did at the Capitol Cup? They posted they had 32 teams in the tournament.

On of their coaches posted: "Being on top isn't easy - it comes with a target on your back. it stings when others celebrate beating us, but that only fuels our fire to work harder and come back stronger."

It was very enjoyable beating them.

In10sity had only 3 teams win. Not that winning means anything for u littles improvement. just interesting since in10sity stresses so much about winning and their trophies are very important to them.

We were with with them last year when they were more selective of players on teams, they had less teams and they were pretty good. (We are with a different program this year.) I noticed that this year, they did not do that well in this tournament (they did have a few 1st place and 2nd place finishes, but not as many as I thought they would have). I think they diluted their talent pool a little to expand the club size, which indicates a scaling up problem. I would have expected them to do much better than they did. But to be fair, it seems there was better futsal pure competition at this tournament than in years past. And, they put all their teams in in order to maximize playing time for their players. They have a great futsal program, I'd recommend it to anyone. It is a huge step up from our Club Coaches who put together a futsal program over the winter. They did well in Atlantic City last year (Which is a big tournament.) They will probably have to select only the best players to compete in that this year and collapse the Black and Yellow teams into 1 team to do that.

Honestly, I think they didn't do that well in order to maximize player development over combining the best players to get wins in this tournament; but they will probably do that going to bigger tournaments.

And another reason they did not win as much - there are lots of former club members
