Who would know what lexapro is? |

If we were in the path of totality, I can see getting all excited about this. But, people, we are getting about 85% coverage. It is not going to be that exciting. Seriously. |
I hear it doesn't compare a tiny bit to totality, but 2017 was still fun. And if I were an elementary schooler just getting to go outside at a different time than usual would be fun, and even more so with all the eclipse hype. If our ES hadn't scheduled times for each class to go look, I would have taken the kids out for the afternoon. |

Back in the day, my guess is they would have planned an event. But with sue happy parents (oh no Aiden looked at the sun without glasses!) and too many kids who won’t listen-it wasn’t going to happen. I’m picking up my kid early. |
Dr. Reid really missed the mark on this. Schools should have had a 2 hr early release today. The schools have been absolutely swarmed with early checkouts. |
Exactly. That’s what I’ve been saying all along. |
Also, I wanted to add that since so many kids are leaving early, the teachers can’t do their regular lessons anyway. Another bad decision by FCPS higher ups! |
Teacher here on lunch break. Yup. Literally 70 percent of my class is ansent or getting picked up early. |
I am curious about the middle schools - my guess is less of them were picked up early. |
Another FCPS fail. |

Couldn’t win if tried. Many upset no early release, but if early release would be even more posts on how FCPS not educating kids and too many days/hours off. As is, HS and MS will all be out before eclipse, many elementary schools ARE doing viewings and for any ES that aren’t, some parents can check their kids out if want but will be fewer than people think. |
Not all parents want their HS and MS home at 12 because some ES aren’t doing school viewing. If in ES, pick up your kid if want to view. |
What about delayed dismissal by half and hour. |
