She said she's open to baldies (her husband was bald). That will help with the pool!

I bet you anything Leslie and Faith were pickier about things like that, which may have been another factor given concerns about getting a viable pool of senior men.

I don't think she's the prettiest at all. She looks like a typical plastic surgeried real housewife. She would look a million times better if she left her poor face alone and cut her hair, which makes her long, thin face look even longer. And maybe went with a less harsh blonde tone. She does look amazing in clothes though. Otherwise Faith, Edith, and Leslie are much prettier and more natural looking. I'm bummed one of them wasn't selected.

I think they had to consider the dating pool/location after the Gerry/Theresa moving issue: That ruled rural Faith out, which is too bad because it would have been more fun with her. And then Leslie I think was seen as too emotional and risky. Joan seems nice enough, but to me she is really difficult to look at, grotesque and masculine with the face lift and extreme thin body.

The location issue makes sense. I actually think the bigger issues is that both Leslie and Faith are a little too sensitive and fragile for the GB gig. Watching their responses to the Gerry breakup was painful, very similar in the degree of heartbreak that developed in response to such a short relationship. Although I'd prefer either of them, this is probably for the best. Joan seems to have a tougher core. I agree with a PP she's the least likely to get engaged though. And is a little dull.

Agree that Joan is in the best location for dating along the Eastern seaboard. I think Leslie loves Minneapolis. Now that she's a local celebrity, I'm sure she has guys sliding into her DMs and lots of people wanting to set her up. Faith needs to get out of podunk. If she's serious about meeting a guy, it won't be there.

Probably. I'm sure there were multiple factors, not just one.

Joan already saying she won't leave her family.

I doubt she ends up in a lasting relationship from this.

She quit in week 3. And as has been posted here a lot, what we did see of her was highly edited. So maybe we don't know enough about her personality to say much.

I think we have a sense from her Insta. Consensus on this thread is kind of an odd combo of nice, awkward, and thirsty.

I agree with those saying it was probably for the best that Leslie wasn't chosen. Joan does seem tougher and more sure of herself in general. One theory about Leslie not being chosen is that her heartbroken narrative was compelling as long as Gerry and Theresa were together but not good once Gerry became toxic and he and Theresa split up. I think a PP said something similar, that any Gerry narrative became unappealing from that point. Joan was outside of the fray, and is a very safe pick in terms of drama history.

PO'd that Leslie didn't get the nod, are we?

I don't think the producers are going for fantastic charisma in a bachelor or bachelorette. They're looking for the contestants to provide the drama.

Yes, she.seems calm and the drama can whirl around her. Makes sense. She's a bit of a blank.

Joan?
Ugh.
She's so boring and ugly.

I agree especially after Gerry they want boring and safe. Hard to see how that will make for good tv, but we’ll see.

I'm glad they picked skinny, boring Joan because I have no desire to watch her so I won't waste anymore of my very limited free time watching this drivel. I was too hooked on GB.
