People have seriously lost their minds. I am truly hoping the posts about "giving everyone under 18 a car" and the BS about brains not being wholly formed until 26 and that these thugs are "kids" are sarcastic.

How about this? In addition to trying them as adults and throwing them in jail for a long time, how about we round up their absentee parents and throw them in jail too?

Here for 30 years and this is our plan. The situation just keeps getting worse and the crime and dysfunction from the voucher initiative is really impacting QOL. Had always planned to stay but think at this point we need to take care of ourselves and our own safety.

This number is really ticking up. We may well hit 1,000 by the end of the year, the number of stolen cars is twice the number carjacked. And there are not statistics available for broken windows and stolen tires. Why are they not using bait cars, etc.? Detaining carjackers to deter others?

Remember this former ANC was redistricted so she could not challenge Charles Allen for W6 Council seat.

Realistically, what future do these kids have, with teens spent committing violent crimes rather than attending school or learning a trade? How many are illiterate and chronically truant? What will the long-term consequences be for them and for the public? How many will be shot or killed at very young ages for being in the life?

Some of us DO live in the suburbs but work in DC - we also deserve to not get carjacked.
