No, that PP was referring (incessantly) to Project 2025. They insist that Trump has announced he will be "putting black people in camps," which is about as ludicrous as anything I've heard yet from the left. And notably, they refuse to back up their idiocy with actual quotes and links.

That's kind of hilarious. Making claims you know what's in a secret document but can't prove it because it's secret. Nothing at all like tinfoil conspiracy theorists, haha! That's only for right wingers!

It’s not a “secret document.” There’s a website and everything. https://www.project2025.org/

Okay, find the part where they say they are going to round up black people and put them in camps, and post it here. If true, this is indeed a horrifically sinister plot, so please do prove your case.

It's funny how they make these outrageous claims, ASSuming no one will call them on it, and then retreat when that backfires. So typical of the left.

I'm poking around the website, trying to figure out which agencies would handle transporting 42 million Americans to camps. I mean, surely you'd need amtrak, and they aren't even in the book. Bureau of Land Management? I don't know, it would be an extraordinary feat, and would upend American life and tank the economy.

Oh, I see it now. It's under one of the Project 2025 Pillars on the home page:
"Rounding up Black Americans and Putting them in Camps"

Hmm, you're going to have to show us. To me, Project 2025 just appears to be a Heritage Foundation project to assemble marching orders for the appointees for various agencies. Like, pretty standard presidential transition stuff. No camps, no mention of an effort to zap 12% of people out of their normal lives.

Can you imagine? This would cripple the south. Southern cities would be ghost towns. The busiest airport in the world, ATL, would have to cease operations. It's a really fascinating conspiracy theory.

PP here. I was joking. There is absolutely nothing about “putting black people in camps” and the PP who made the claim is a complete liar. I completely agree with your assessment of Project 2025 and actually, I want to thank the person who keeps warning us in dire tones about it. I read the entire thing and thought it was excellent.

Wow.
Excellent?
To be clear: You support ICE raids all around the country to round up undocumented immigrants, fly them to Texas, and place these millions of undocumented immigrants into camps in rural parts of Texas?
You support ending DACA, meaning that undocumented immigrants who were brought to the US when they were children must be deported to countries where they don't speak the language, know no one and have never lived?
You support ending asylum for people who have been threatened, tortured and jailed by the government of their home country, meaning the US will simply fly these people home to be killed by their government?
And BTW, when these millions of undocumented immigrants are waiting in camps in Texas to be deported, who is going to take care of your kids? mow your grass? repair and clean your house? cook your food? take care of your elderly parents?
Who will replace all these workers, and who will pay their wages? Americans don't want these jobs and won't take them, but immigrants do and will.
Many undocumented immigrants have the legal right to work in the US while their asylum or visa applications are pending. To be clear: You want the US government to revoke the work permits of all these people (millions of people legally living and working in the US), place them in camps (at taxpayer expense), and then fly them (at taxpayer expense) back to their home country?
I'm sorry you think this way.

Let me get this straight. You believe they are going to send to camps:
-42M black people
-17M illegal immigrants
-an unspecified number of work permit holders

This is not logistically feasible, even if these agencies worked at unprecedented velocity. So I want to put your mind at ease. Even if the Heritage Foundation were to go temporarily bonkers and propose this, it's simply not possible. This would be an operation 6-10x that of the Nazi concentration camps, which were the largest in recorded history. Our country is much larger, much more diverse, and very low numbers of people would support this. So. Even if you are having hallucinations and believe you read this, it will not happen.

The PP is unstable. And notice, still no quotes about "putting black people in camps."

Policing is local. Most crime is locally prosecuted. Trump has zero control over or interest in local gang shootings and teenage car jackers.

The problem is too much crime is NOT being prosecuted locally. I am not a Chris Christie fan, but I agree with his approach to crime.
Send in US Federal prosecutors to those cities in which the local prosecutors fail to prosecute crime. In many cases, they have announced they will not prosecute certain crimes. Time to take over their jobs.

Wait, wait! Why did you leave out “putting black people in camps”?? Seems so strange that you wouldn’t include that!

DC has federal prosecutors who refuse to prosecute. I fail to see how that is better

Wait, wait! Why did you leave out “putting black people in camps”?? Seems so strange that you wouldn’t include that!

Why should anyone try to reason with you when the collective you is struck with selective illiteracy every time someone shows you his quotes? Or links to a longer article? You all played this little game when we were stuck with the treasonous rapist in office. If he didn’t explicitly say something, even if he was crystal clear in his implication, you would accuse us of “overreacting.” You understand implications. You just turn into a pile of stupid for plausible deniability when Trump implies something.

Donald has a long history of racist actions and words (that I have linked, in this thread). Donald has been very clear he does not like Black people. Donald has been explicit that he will put all illegal immigrants in camps (with the implication that they’ll round up as many legal immigrants and naturalized citizens that they want to because when laws are meaningless, a dictator can do what he wants). Furthermore, Trump has been explicit that he will lock up his opponents (that’s here, for your selective illiteracy to ignore: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/30/trump-interview-jail-political-opponents-glenn-beck).

Basically it wouldn’t be just illegal immigrants he’ll lock up, and it won’t just be his opponents he’ll have lynched. He would do what he wants with whomever he wants.

When you cast your vote for Trump in 2024, be aware that you are actively voting for the modern day equivalent of the Nazis. Just don’t expect anyone to play along with your feigned ignorance that it means anything other than you wanting a number of your fellow Americans locked up and murdered.

Biden retakes the lead. Not that anyone is going to notice with the GOP media like the NYT flogging one poll from early November.

Does this mean they will stop trying to limit the black voters, or stop crying fraud over the vote totals in black communities?

Trump has won 12 of the last 14 polls posted on Real Clear Politics. What are you talking about?

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/general-election-trump-vs-biden-7383.html#polls

And for context, keep in mind that Biden was leading Trump by double digits in almost every poll taken in October-December 2019. Gloating over a few polls that show Biden up by a couple points nationally is foolhardy, especially since Trump is crushing him in swing state polls in places like Nevada and Michigan.

I generally don't trust poll #s but there are certainly ignorant, irrational people of all colors.

I’m not saying most Republicans are racist against blacks, but most if not all racists that vote do vote Republican.

haha.. right? Rs should be pushing to make voting easier for more black people.

HRC also won most of the polls over Trump in 2015 - 2016. Let's remember that.

This is so hilarious. I actually went to a WSJ talk where Jared Kushner said this exact same thing before the 2020 election. I was the only black person in the room and literally started laughing. Everyone else was intensely shaking their head.

This is my online laugh out loud to the people who actually believe this.

If this move is accurate, it oddly reminds me of “Blaxit” where African Americans are moving abroad to places like Mexico City to escape the racism of the US.

Which to me doesn’t really make sense because have you been to Mexico City? Do you know what colorism is? Have you ever been to Eastern Europe? Them bammas is much more racist, or at least in different ways, than the US.

Either way, African American people migrating in droves seems equally as short sighted to me. I mean yeah, when the gets elected and slashes the estate tax and like equity initiatives and programs I’m sure that will totally benefit the plight of many African Americans. I’m also interested to learn how they would improve public schools. But hey everyone has to learn the hard way.

I am kind of strange in that I am super socially liberal, but fiscally a little more conservative. I think Nikki Haley is an idiot, trump is an idiot, but I also don’t like any of the idiots on the dc city council who are woke af and don’t seem to understand that fighting crime is a good thing. Anyway, who cares. Peace!

Sorry, I meant “ Either way, African American people migrating to vote for Republicans in droves seems equally as short sighted to me.”

Effectively, because the average wealth held by African Americans is like 5x less than Caucasian folks. So would they benefit from the bulk of where the fiscal benefits would be directed? Would there be a great movement to actually help them? No! Republicans would overheat the economy and ignore them. It seems like a leopards ate my face situation.
