Realistically you’re just old and cranky and would have disliked them even if they were self-made.

Self-made people actually go to work. They don't have loud parties until 5 am during the week, and then wonder why you have a problem with it.

What do they do all day if they’re not at work? Don’t they at least have pretend jobs where they can go kill some time?

Not just "poor" people - teachers, police, nurses. These people used to be able to buy in the neighborhood. In fact many of the current retirees living here are former DC government employees. Now they can't afford to live anywhere in DC. Some of us don't want to live solely amongst rich and entitled snots.

Then move further out or to other neighborhoods. What makes you think you, or anyone, has the RIGHT to live in areas where people worked and saved for decades to afford.

There are many options other than areas where the avg income is 300k + and median homes 1.5M +. It’s a fish out of water scenario, like it or not.

I don’t live in Normanstone because I can’t afford. I bought in Rockville early on, and moved up to CC.

Walk the dog. Walk the dog. Walk the dog. Watch the cleaners do their work. Watch the yard people do their work. Arrange for house renovations. Plan vacations. Go out to breakfast. Go out to lunch. Go out to dinner. Party! Honestly it is painful watching them, so I don't.

Nobody is taking your property. It’s a piece of government land and the government wants to partner with a private developer to build affordable housing, market-rate housing, and an improved community center. Nobody is kicking you out, but you may have to share the public spaces with other people. This is one of the best affordable housing proposals I’ve seen in a long time so you may want to get used to the idea. This is happening.

If the complex was for firemen, cops, nurses and /or teachers ONLY it would be no complaints.

It will be illegals and crackheads the way MoCo runs things in 10-20 years.

At this point they have to move so far out they might as well start working for other jurisdictions. I will remind you that we have both a pretty severe shortage of teachers and police. Don't you read the news?

In a majority luxury market-rate building co-located with a community center? Doubtful. And they will still have to pay the subsidized rent to live there.

Based on your description of their other daily activities, what’s there to fight about???
