Not to derail - but try watching Gilmore Girls! Parts of it will seem very dated and out of touch - but overall, it holds up as a thoroughly entertaining show with imperfect but lovable characters, that you will still want to pick over in detail, two decades after it aired. (Team Emily here.)

As someone who tried to get into it as an adult, I think it's too late for most people. I know people who watched it as teenagers and loved it then and nostalgia carries them through, and people who watched it with their daughters, so they liked it then but are pretty much over it despite a lingering affection.
