Massive pentagon leak re Ukraine conflict

From the times

Later, someone who appeared to be Airman Teixeira drove onto the property in a red pickup truck.

When Times reporters approached the house again, the truck was parked in the driveway. Airman Teixeira’s mother and a man were standing outside in the driveway.

When asked if Airman Teixeira was there and willing to speak, the man said: “He needs to get an attorney if things are flowing the way they are going right now. The Feds will be around soon, I’m sure.”

The NYT found this guy before the feds did? Wonder if FBI agents refused to investigate the case?

Well it’s not like he will be arrested and charged. The DOJ handling of the Trump classified documents kind of let’s everyone off the hook now.

Good lord, this family sounds so dumb.

Great comment on the NYTs: “Gaming is full of do overs where your character comes back to life. Real life is different, with permanent results that can't be reversed. Living in the online world, while a vector for reducing carbon emissions, is probably not a good idea in general.”

This guy leaked massive secrets for clout amongst a cult of teenagers he was grooming in a chat forum. This is peak Idiocracy. These teens should’ve been in after school sports and programs, instead of talking about war with a grown adult.

This entire story is completely bonkers.

So how did a camera get inside a SCIF?

My money is that this leak is from someone inside Congress

Oh, FFS. Someone in Congress did not leak this.

Perhaps if leaks had been taken more seriously in the past, this crap would not be happening.

People have been leaking stuff for a while now, and very rarely suffer any ramifications.

Republican congressmen showed during the first impeachment that they have no respect for SCIFs.

Exactly. And everyone I know who works in SCIFs is under strict rules about phones and cameras.

I will snicker a little when we find that this leak was from some far-left Democrat trying to impress his friends.

He’s a “young, charismatic gun enthusiast.”

+1

Washington Post reporters got hold of members of the Discord channel where the leaks were posted, they know the poster, and said he is in his 20s, currently serving in the military, conservative, gun enthusiast, and he got the documents from a military base that he serves on. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/04/12/discord-leaked-documents/

Will probably get caught very soon.

Where in the posted article did they say he was "conservative?" Or, serving in the military? Citation needed.

Literally the first lines of the linked article. Jesus.

Copy and paste them here.

The teen who gave the interview in the article is in a world of hurt. I hope he gets a lawyer.

Copy and past the part where pp here claimed he is "conservative" and "serving in the military."

DP here
“But OG had a dark view of the government. The young member said he spoke of the United States, and particularly law enforcement and the intelligence community, as a sinister force that sought to suppress its citizens and keep them in the dark. He ranted about “government overreach.”

Sure sounds like a liberal to me!! Nothing specific about being actual military but he clearly was a gun nutter conservative that worked at a secure military location.

We get that. But instead of making this into a right vs left fight, which is so predictable and boring, it's best to be specific. And I'm a lefty, so I'm not trying to hide this man's obvious ties to guns and religion. I think if he was spewing MAGA bull, the teen would have reported that to WaPo. He sounds libertarian if anything, actually. Angry about government overreach, wants freedom to carry, etc.

No he is a trump support and this is what one should expect from republicans.

1. No proof of that at all, and 2. Learn to spell supporter, you look stupid

How does air national guard have access to this stuff?

Last name — not a DAR type American

Very odd this whole episode

The NYT needed to bring in an outside journalist to do it.

This tells me that both the NYT and Feds are full of old people that don't understand the online world. It also tells me that we need to take open source intelligence seriously. It was all tracked down by following the internet bread crumbs. My question is why didn't Palantir figure it out?

So typically DCUM. Lie about what the article says. Make some huge unfounded assumptions. Then, state them as fact.

I'm hoping that the FBI hadn't moved on the guy yet because they'd had him under surveillance???? They aren't really as incompetent as this NYT story make them appear, right??? Right???

Because, if they aren't, and they published his name, huge law suit is coming.
