a new thread about Casey DeSantis's strange fashion choices

I expected more pictures on this thread. Boring.

Seems... a little casual?

I suspect this is a dress, yes casual and stretchy and ruffly and cheap looking for a White House visit. Is Linda McMahon the only Republican woman wearing suits anymore?
Someone asked who else it was in the picture: https://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2018/01/pam-bondi-casey-desantis-attend-white-house-womens-symposium.html

Another fantastic wedding guest dress. Very retro.

So, Casey DeSantis is 7 months pregnant here, but sure, go ahead and mock her dress. God, you people are the absolute worst.

How about commenting how beautiful and vibrant she looks, how proud she feels with her family, how lucky her three little children are to be able to hold her hand. No matter what politics you subscribe, be thankful.

This is a snarky thread about her fashion choices, not an earnest referendum on her worth as a person. Start your own boring thread in another forum.

Also, if it WERE a referendum on her worth as a person, I would rank her quite low, as she has allied herself with one of the most repugnant men in America.

No, this is women doing exactly what we complain about men doing to women. Stop acting like a man. Or, maybe you are a man?

I have never in my life complained about a man making informed critiques about a woman’s fashion choices. Do you know what sexism actually is?

Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean her dress doesn’t look cheap. I mean, I think it’s fine and I looked horrible when I was seven months pregnant, but there is nothing wrong with critiquing the fashion choices of a public figure who is pregnant.

Yeah, she has the veneer of polish that a bit of money can impart, but scratch the surface and she's LMC all the way.

As a Democrat, having come from a LMC background isn’t the insult you seem to think it is.

And this is the problem with being catty about appearances because you think it's allowed because you don't like someone.

Inevitably you end up unwittingly offending or insulting and alienating people around you who you think are on your side.

For instance, I'm fair skinned and have ditched girls who make comments about other girls looking too pasty. Not a direct comment to me, but enough to know that people who spend time tearing others down over appearances aren't helping me feel good.

I wrote that and I'm not a Demcrat, I'm an Independent. I'm not on your side or the Republican side.

Okay. I am curious, though, as to why you think that there is something wrong with having a LMC background?

It’s not the background, it’s the disavowal.

Okay, sorry, I had missed that. Do you have a link to her disavowing her LMC background?

I don't understand how pregnancy forces you into lambchop sleeves. I'm missing something here.

She’s attractive and she’s had some good, natural looking work done—look at the difference between the brow line here and in other photos. Lots of Botox at least, maybe more.

She’s not some Jackie O who looks good in anything though.

She must have a huge tab at David's Bridal!

Disney Evita Bridesmaid - is that where we are now?

She has Sicilian roots — jersey girls that are eye-talian Americans also have similar aesthetics

I was thinking she was maybe Cuban this whole time!

I am into her weird Disney princess style. She looks like she is having fun in some of these pictures at least.

How is her background LMC if her father was an optometrist and her mother was a speech pathologist? Sounds solidly MC, more likely higher than that.

Where I’m from, that makes you UMC at least!

What does her being pregnant have to do with anything? I wore fashionable, professional attire throughout my pregnancy. I was definitely not wearing t-shirts/stretchy dresses to court.

Right, I'm sure you were just picture perfect during your pregnancy. In your mind, at least.
