a new thread about Casey DeSantis's strange fashion choices

Very feminine, fantastic hair, proportionate - she would look good in 90% of clothes.
She definitely has style.

She definitely has style.

She looks good in clothes and most clothes look good on her. She’s aged/matured nicely (compare her wedding pics to anything current). She never looks bad. Still, because she’s never “read the assignment” as they say, I don’t think she “definitely has style”. In fact, I’d say she needs a new stylist because that’s where (and maybe the only place) she falls short.

Be honest

I don’t think anyone has said that she hasn’t. But she dresses like a 14-year-old going to her first grownup wedding at every event.

She's such an imposter.

I'm thinking now that her fancy dressing style was a play to win over the Latino votes.

I’m thinking you’re thinking all day every day about your favorite woman.

Touche
And yet, I am into politics, and DeSantis's dresses seem to be a peek into her husband's mindset being that women are accessories for his party.

Yeah, she has the veneer of polish that a bit of money can impart, but scratch the surface and she's LMC all the way.

As a Democrat, having come from a LMC background isn’t the insult you seem to think it is.

And this is the problem with being catty about appearances because you think it's allowed because you don't like someone.

Inevitably you end up unwittingly offending or insulting and alienating people around you who you think are on your side.

For instance, I'm fair skinned and have ditched girls who make comments about other girls looking too pasty. Not a direct comment to me, but enough to know that people who spend time tearing others down over appearances aren't helping me feel good.

I wrote that and I'm not a Demcrat, I'm an Independent. I'm not on your side or the Republican side.

Okay. I am curious, though, as to why you think that there is something wrong with having a LMC background?

She has Sicilian roots — jersey girls that are eye-talian Americans also have similar aesthetics

True but that’s just how middle class Italian-American (she’s part Italian American) from the rust belt dress

I think she is really pretty and her clothes are appropriate.

Casey DeSantis does not need anybody on here to defend her. She isn't reading this and doesn't care about what any of us think.

It’s not the background, it’s the disavowal.

Well then perhaps a different thread would be more to your liking! We have a fine tradition of inspecting and critiquing the clothes of political figures here, and some of us enjoy it even if not every comment is one we'd endorse.

I also strongly disapprove of weird classism (I have no idea Disney Evita's family background and think more of people who didn't start on third base, anyway). But I can still appreciate a good thread of weird fashion on public figures, and critiquing the clothes themselves and how they fit in with the figure's image and self-conception.

Love the expressions on the people around her. They look thrilled, just thrilled, to be there.

I’m just glad she’s getting a second wear out of that bridesmaid’s dress.

She's pretty, yes.
