I’m not sure American audiences really get it as there is a culture gap but I used to live in the UK and it’s clear her ungrateful entitled self-aggrandizing attitude was not okay. Honestly I don’t think the BRF realized what they were taking on when they allowed a professional image manipulator and wannabe Hollywood A-listed into their midst. She plays the game better than any commoner would. Add to this that she is more intelligent than all the Royals (and especially Harry) and they have a real problem on their hands. TBH I think she saw this too and was just frustrated that they were holding her back from using her skills to leverage her new lifestyle into a brand like the Kardashians.

She isn’t more intelligent - she didn’t do as well at school as Catherine, she doesn’t have any artistic skills, she can’t maintain relationships. I know I’ll get shouted down but I don’t particularly care. What Meghan is is manipulative and remorseless in her discarding of significant people in her life - not just her dad, but childhood friends, her mailing her ring to her ex-husband. She’s brutal but that attracts admiration and the comparative lack of drama brought by others is seen as weakness instead of what it actually is, personal strength.

I didn’t say she was a better person or had more integrity or was more emotionally intelligent. I think she has a higher IQ. But there is no question that Kate is more emotionally intelligent and skilled at making and keeping relationships and is a vestry better-seeming person.

Why on Earth would you presume a higher IQ? One of them took honors in college and it wasn’t Meghan. One of them can play an instrument to some degree and draw; again, not Meghan. And I’ve seen Suits, and the emoting done there was by her struggle cleavage and tighter than tight pencil skirts. It was in no way appreciably more high brow than Deal or No Deal, actual truth be told.

I don't agree with pitting these women's intelligence against each other, but come on, let's at least be reasonable. Meghan went to Northwestern. Kate went to St Andrews. StA is fine, but it's not Northwestern. Meghan also speaks two languages and had a way more robust career in a way that Kate never had (and likely never could have).

I didn’t start it but I will certainly finish it. One of them did well, one didn’t pass the Foreign Service exam after her LONE “smart one” credential, her Argentinian internship from her “who are you again?” Uncle. I’d LOVE TO SEE the evidence that Meghan speaks any foreign language beyond the wine menu of a mid-range restaurant - she reeks of Melania Trump’s I Speak 6 Languages. Evidence, please - hey, you want to be reasonable, correct?

Oh, how embarrassing for you. Meghan narrated the Spanish translation for the audiobook of her children's book The Bench (you can hear it for yourself here), and there are numerous accounts of people describing her aptitude in speaking Spanish.

Lady, I could read a book out in Spanish and I don't even really speak Spanish. Anyone who has taken 3-4 years of mandatory high school language classes could too. Speaking minimal Spanish is not really impressive in any way.

This is just completely made up? Meghan graduated from Northwestern with a double major. However you cut it up, that's pretty impressive and she clearly did well in school.

It is NOT made up: you are in fact presenting as factual things that aren’t. Meghan took no honors in college. Fact. Actual fact. Any celebrity who was cum laude or PBK has it in their Wiki. Actual fact. I’m tired of the presumption that a shameless, nasty grifter who is remorseless in attacking her sister in law is also her better. Nope. She isn’t, and it burns her, and the simple fact that she could not stand not entering every room first is why she and stupid Harry have lost much if not most of the goodwill they once had.

Ah, yes, because having cum laude or PBK is the sole marker of "doing well in school" - Meghan, who was able to attain admission into one of the US's best schools. Kate, meanwhile, went off to St Andrews, a school whose primary claim to fame is that Will and Kate went there. Anyone who knows anything about colleges knows that they're simply not in league with each other.

But I think it's really gauche to be bringing up one's performance in uni, even if you're the one calling out the pot shots.

FWIW Meghan hasn't attacked her SIL and in fact called her a "good person". Meanwhile, Kate is on record cozying up with the very people who have actually attacked Meghan in a court of law.

Lady, there are actual people on actual record (not "rumors" or "palace sources", mind you) commending her for her ability to converse in Spanish.

"Her Spanish is quite good! At one point, [while talking to] one of the girls in the café, who Spanish is the dominate language [for], Meghan just went right into Spanish, which was a revelation to me!"

He continued on to say, "Someone came up to me and said, 'Listen to her, her Spanish is really good!'. So that was something I didn't know that she knew how to do."

It appears you can barely speak one language, so I'm not sure why you're insulting anyone else's purported language skills.

Kate seems like the better person. No one said she was a brain surgeon. But she has way more character than Meghan, in terms of having been extremely disciplined in her role within the BRF and maintaining her family while also allowing herself to be "owned" by the British people. Meghan would not do it.

Your ability to move goalposts is quite impressive. You were the one claiming that Kate is more intelligent than Meghan. When called out and faced with counter-evidence, you resort to questions of character, even though you don't know either of these people.

I went to far more selective schools than Meghan - unlike you, I know what I’m talking about. I’m not making pot shots: some fool here said Meghan had a higher IQ and I’m trying to figure out how that bit of Marklefap took root in anyone’s head - it makes no sense, on this or any neighboring planet. And yes, no doubt the chowderhead class saw Meghan snarl that Catherine is a “good person” during Whinefest part I, Oprah, and took it as a great compliment. She was visibly infuriated. She and certain of her fans have this bizarre animus towards Middleton and it comes out constantly.

But of course, you'll refuse to acknowledge this and keep letting your tabloid-fueled bias against this woman inform your hatred.

You’re a total joke, as was this waste of trees. Thank you to the person who responded. Ev. I. Dence of decent mastery, please. No? Where is it? How embarrassing for you!

It appears you can barely speak one language, so I'm not sure why you're insulting anyone else's purported language skills.

No. Sorry, went to famously more selective schools than the Duchess, spoke a foreign language as my first, so native in something other than English; have studied others throughout undergrad and after. I’m not sure how this proves anything about Meghan’s claims re achievement in 2 foreign languages.

Hahahahahaha, sure sure

No animus toward Kate on my end. But the animus that "Kate fans" have against Meghan is extremely palpable and borderline obsessive. Someone as smart and educated as yourself can surely deign themselves to acknowledge that most basic observation.

She didn’t claim that. I’m the one claiming it and I think the emotional self-control alone is a strong marker of superior intelligence.

Lady, I could read a book out in Spanish and I don't even really speak Spanish. Anyone who has taken 3-4 years of mandatory high school language classes could too. Speaking minimal Spanish is not really impressive in any way.

Again, you are easily impressed.

That’s what people meant? Do some stretches with all that goalpost moving, querida. Embarrassed for you but that’s got to be the default for everyone near you.
