What’s up with the Harry and Meghan Netflix docu series?

I thought it was "At Home with Duke and Duchess of Sussex?" I may be wrong.

I believe it was a fallback after it became obvious to Netflix that it's impossible to get anything with actual substance from these two.

I see the growth of our boy indeed.

Funny how they want nothing to do with the family, but cling to the titles for dear life.

And how they want freedom but can't stop talking about the RF.

Because she's so accomplished and impressive in her own right?

Ah, yes, because if you aren't accomplished and impressive, you deserve to receive credible death threats and right-wing terrorism.

Yes, because that's exactly what I'm proposing.

Please learn to read and think critically. PP is clearly referring to the video about the death threats.

I thought Sussex discussion was verboten. Has the policy changed?

I still don’t understand what they want. To be left alone? To have the spotlight? To use the titles but not be working royals?

They want to live public lives with a reasonable amount of privacy and security, while working on projects they're passionate about. Not sure what's so hard to understand...

But the only reason they are famous/have public lives is because they are/were? royals. I understand them giving up being royals to live quiet, private lives, but now it feels like they still want to be famous without actually doing the work…

"The work"? They "work" more than Kate and William, that's for sure. In fact, Meghan got an incredible amount of flak during the time she was with the Royal Family because she worked too much.

People always trot out that attack without actually articulating quite what they mean to. Even in the most unforgiving interpretation, there are plenty of people out there who "want to be famous without actually doing the work" but who don't receive a sliver of a fraction of the completely hostile and cruel vitriol directed toward M&H.

Not a "fan", just someone who's observed this specific trend of hatred (along with, say, Amber Heard, Britney Spears et al).

You seem to be confused. Meghan was “out” on maternity leave for most of the 15 minutes she was a working royal. She’s been capitalizing on that duchess title and all the heaps of agony she endured during her tenure since then. I’m not sure where the story that MM works so hard comes from besides her fan club and her PR blitz. I do agree that she seems way way more focused on accomplishing fame/ wealth/ connections/ star status than any other royal wife.

I sincerely and without snark think you’re mistaking Meghan for Kate.

Meghan was pilloried by the tabloid press for trying to tackle too many projects and for emailing her team outside of the typical 9-5.

No. Not mistaking. Meghan was definitely on the EAstern standard time zone and emailed people early- but work hard? Aside from the couple tours she did with Harry nope, she didn’t work hard. But It doesn’t matter anyway since now she works for herself. Charles is no longer paying for Megan’s million dollar wardrobe and they’ve gotta pay for that fancy mansion with the designer chicken coop!

Grenfell cookbook, guest editing British Vogue, multiple tours… and that’s just off the top of my head. Seems like a whole lot for 15 minutes, especially if she was on maternity leave for most of it!

Even her fiercest critic, the Daily Mail, wrote multiple stories about how she was too much of a workaholic! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6401489/Palace-insiders-reveal-Hurricane-Meghan-shaking-Royals.html

And yet now one of the biggest complaints people have about her is that she’s workshy! So which is it?

Meghan worked so hard during her 15 minutes she spooked Will and Kate into actually putting some work in!

Not to mention Meghan is quite literally the first and only self-made millionaire woman to marry into that family. What a strange critique!

My favorite is when they call Meghan a social climber, while their curiously exalted Kate chased and waited around for William for 10 years—all for the queen consort title.

There’s nothing wrong with that being someone’s goal. But, one could choke on the hypocrisy.
