| Is this series to be a repeat of his book that will be available in January? I guess I don’t know how much more information is there to tell?? |
1. Probably not. 2. Well, no. That will be difficult to even guess at without access to his book. I’d imagine, though, that given Harry’s personal history and the history of the/his British Royal family, there’s quite a lot to tell. Every year, dozens of books — from decent to tripe— are published that focus on various members of the BRF and various aspects of the family’s history. I’m sure that an actual member of the family could share enough to fill a few more books and multiple hours of film. 3. Have you read the recently published book by the Duke of Kent yet? |
NP. Is the Duke of Kent book worth reading? Frankly, I’d be more interested in this than Harry’s book. I don’t find him credible after the Oprah interview and think he and Meghan would say anything to earn a buck. |
The book is Harry’s story and I’ve read that the Netflix series is “Harry and Meghan’s story.” So I imagine they’ll be different. |
|
Honestly, will there be anything "new" though? Maybe an untold anecdotal story or two, but otherwise it's the same old woe-is-me theme that's been repeated ad nauseum.
Minus a small niche of critics and fans, I feel like there's not a lot of traction (at least in the US) with either H (& M). |
|
I think there is bound to be some intersectionality- how much content can these two produce at one time without considerable overlap?? There had already been plenty between the podcasts and interviews.
She is already distancing herself from the series in many ways, as evidenced by her direct quote in the Variety interview where she washes her hands of any discrepancies. “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story—a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired—even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it. But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.” Reminds me of the Queen’s fine and succinct statement - recollections may vary, indeed. |
| I love Harry and Megan. I'm excited to watch. I love royal gossip with the outfits and jewelry. I wish they'd do a modern season of The Crown with the antics of the British press. I also love Will and Kate. I can't wait to see the pics of them in Boston. Honestly, I wish they'd all (Will and Harry + wives) reunite and make a dynamic, interesting royal news cycle for the next 15 years. They're so shortsighted. |
| Has anyone started listening to the book, which is supposedly available for free with an Audible subscription? |
It's a pre-order for $0 with audible trial/subscription. Won't be available until Jan 10 so if you do the audible 30 day trial now, you'll have to pay for the next month to have the subscription when the book comes out. |
I see, clever audible people

| It’s strange that the show is supposed to be out in less than 2 weeks and we still don’t know what the name is yet. I am curious to watch though and hoping it does come out on the 8th. |
I ‘ve only read bits of it. It strikes me being kind of dry, but Very detailed, so someone interested in “more information “ about the British Royal family, like the PP, might find it a treat. Here’s the Amazon link if anyone’s interested. https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Life-HRH-Duke-Kent/dp/1529389704/ref=sr_1_1?crid=368E2GQSQ8S9Z&keywords=duke+of+kent+memoir&qid=1669523976&s=books&sprefix=Duke+of+%2Cstripbooks%2C172&sr=1-1&asin=B09Q31GBS1&revisionId=420d7f6e&format=1&depth=1 |
I thought it was "At Home with Duke and Duchess of Sussex?" I may be wrong. I believe it was a fallback after it became obvious to Netflix that it's impossible to get anything with actual substance from these two. I see the growth of our boy indeed. |
| I think it is an effort to humanize them and show them being both “regular” and philanthropic. |
Funny how they want nothing to do with the family, but cling to the titles for dear life. |
