Philippa Gregory books! |
We'll agree to disagree. I think Stephen King is one of the best at character development. He grabs you right off the hook and he paints his characters as if they're truly alive. If your criteria is that anything that isn't literary art (whatever you decide to define that as, I guess), then I'd say the majority of books discussed on here are lowbrow. |
Sleeping Beauties? Yes. Fairy Tale? Also yes. What are your issues? |
I'm currently on a Freida McFadden kick.
They are easy to read domestic thrillers. They are perfect for something that you want to read quickly without a lot of thought. In the past week I've read - The Housemaid The Housemaid's Secret The Wife Upstairs Just started - The Inmate |
Boy does she crank books out! I read The Housemaid but had no idea she had so many others. Are any of them related? Their names sound like the stories might be very similar, but they're not just repeats of each other? I liked The Housemaid a lot. Like you said, quick and easy read. |
I was once yelled at by an acquaintance for using this word because they thought it indicated that I thought I was better than them. Fun memory. |
The Housemaid's Secret is the sequel to Housemaid. I don't think any of the others are related. |
Is smut lowbrow or is that a separate category?
I went through a smut phase and now an on a regency romance phase apparently. I also read real books so I can talk about them in public. ![]() |
