Would you say this about a male bartender?
|
Who said anything about "stings"? |
| I would be pissed, and annoyed about the theatrics, but accept that it was my bad. I'm 37 and there is a grocery store in town where 9 out of 10 times they don't card me. When I get a 1 in 10 when I've forgotten my ID I get very annoyed but it is what it is. I don't take it out on the person doing their job. Did your DH also not have an ID? Sometimes this happens when I'm out with DH and he just orders and I share. |
| I would be ticked at myself for forgetting my ID |
That's also a policy, not a law. It is not illegal to serve soemone who is actually over 21. But you might get fired for violating your bar's policy. |
Like PP said, it's the law. What a self-centered dimwit. They can lose license. Literally! |
| No because they are supposed to card people and I didn't have my ID. If you decided to be mad about this that's on you. |
My guess is that OP left out that she complained and insisted that she should be able to order a drink, so the waitress told the bartender not to serve her because it was clear that the OP was going to try again after being told no. |
Exactly.. You are a Karen OP. |
+1 I wouldn't get mad b.c I'm not a Karen despite being a middle aged white woman. Don't get mad at people for doing their job. She could get fired for serving without seeing ID. |
Huh? PP you are mocking here. I'm also not White, if that helps you make sense of this. Are we not allowed here?? |
??????? |
|
Lol. I'll pass on your invitation to "cite a source" as if I'm on the clock and you're my boss. Thanks though.!
|
| No, I wouldn't. You chose to go without your ID, so you got no drink. I'm amused that you are mad at this woman for doing her job. For all you know, she has to ask every X person for their ID and your number was up. Bring your ID next time. |
