How about the other half? Is it okay with you if they talk about Capital? |
NL, STARS, and Pride all have openings at every position. That is what is keeping them from being top teams. They all have 1 or 2 good playes at each position, but not a complete team by any means. Any of the 3 would take a top player with open arms regardless of position. If their tryouts are on different dates, tryout for all 3 and see which is the best fit. |
Question was not about openings at NL, Stars or Pride but when ‘28s go to tryout for Capital. |
Too many changes will occur over the next 2 years for this to even be something to worry about right now. NL has strength at middie, Pride does as well and Stars has a few good players at each of the 3 positions. However, you can't assume they all will be playing in 2 years or all tryout for Capital. Some may quit or move to a Maryland club. Not something to worry about now. Capital has a good track record for recruiting but to a previous poster that all things even out is not really true. The better clubs are in Maryland for a reason. Enjoy the summer tournaments and have fun before it gets serious in a few years. |
What summer tournaments are Stars and Pride playing? |
Stop being a weirdo asking where 6 grade girls are playing and just worry about the tournaments your own daughter is playing in. |
they are all listed on their websites |
Stars are at Live Love Lax, Lax is Life and the Crab Cake. |
Pride are at Live Love Lax, The Trident, and Summer Origins. |
Is Lax for the Cure by invitation only?
It’s odd that none of these teams will be there, but all the top NGLL teams (and many others) will. |
Anyone can enter but long waiting list. If you aren't in by 7th grade, hard to ever get in. Preference given to clubs who play in multiple YJ/Steps tourneys (LLL, Lax For Cure fall, Lax By The Sea) |
Capital plays in Lax For The Cure and all pride A teams 7th grade and higher play in it. |
Stars almost never goes to the top tourneys like Lax for the Cure, Lax by the Sea or Mid Atlantic. Your comment about not seeing almost all DMV teams not going to big tourneys is another reason why the DMV teams are not good. |
Some clubs will spread out the tournaments for the youth teams to help avoid playing the same teams over and over when they are not even in recruiting age yet. It gets old especially now with NGLL. Missing 1 of the "big" tournaments won't hurt.
And yes, preference goes to teams/clubs that have been there before. Next Level is finding that out the hard way. Solid 27s and younger but no solid history and no connections. |
Can the Pride parent with obvious hatred towards Stars just take a break for one day on Stars bashing. Getting old. You like your club. Wonderful. You realize there are politics in play with all these tournaments and who is playing right? Enjoy the summer and let the girls enjoy playing the game they love. |
