The title seems to be likening husbands to animals. As far as I am concerned, no need to read any further.

The title is ironic (and probably better for marketing than a ‘how to
Improve the relationship with your husband’)

This is one of those "haha kidding except not kidding except kidding except not" jokes. No reason to even to there.

Why is so hard to keep separated the content of the book from the personal life of the author?

Because she is providing relationship advice. Would you hire a fitness trainer in terrible shape? Would you hire a financial planner if you knew they were broke and in debt?

Hey more power to you but that’s not how a healthy romantic relationship works.

Says you.

No says lots of people who are way more knowledgeable in healthy relationships than Dr. Laura and random posters on this thread. But if you don’t want to believe that, say, John Gottman has a better idea of what a healthy romantic relationship is, that’s your business.

John Gottman also had three wives, so do as i say not as i do.

He’s a hack too.

What do you know about the private life of your therapist? Do you even ask?

This is a good point, no wonder no positive outcome achieved from 80% of marital therapy.

Caring about your man if for girlfriends or wives before they’ve had kids. This is the DC “Moms” forum. Wrong audience OP.

I font get why taking care of your wife or husband is looked upon, why it has to be 50/50? Some people are nurturer by nature, they'll do more doesn't matter what their gender is, others are more ambitious, they'll do less regardless of their gender.

Three words: historical context matters.

It would be one thing if it was all individual choice for eons, but it's not. Women were systematically prohibited from earning money, owning property, and voting in order to keep them doing the work of caretaking for free. Until men have been in that position for a comparable length of time, we should not talk about "nature."

If I were a man earning all the money, I would wonder what my wife would do for me if she didn't need me for that and could do whatever she wanted.

You get one life to live, if you want to sacrifice it for others, more power to you, not everyone does. living your life as you want and going against the wind everyone is society is following also helps women's right of choice.

No it doesn't. Have a nice day.

Everybody has some good points but yes liberals won't acknowledge anything good in conservative values and vice versa. No surprise in that.

She is married and divorced in 3 years.
Had an affair with a married man, live with him in sin for 10 years and only married him when she got knocked up.
She is estranged from her mother and sister.

How is that conservative values?

It reminds of Steve Harvey. Funny man but the dating advice show where where came on to ask questions ( not sure what it’s called) was so weird to me. This man has been married 3 times. Why are you talking advice from a man who has been divorced twice. Clearly he didn’t get it first the first two times.

Your way or highway? Best regards.
