Youngkin creates tip line for parents and students to report teachers for Thought Crime

You snowflake Republican parents realize that your children will be living in a majority minority country, right? The country is diversifying quickly, whether you like it or not. Some of your children will marry across races. So keep whining all you want....it is what it is.

I feel bad for the students who are being pressured by their parents to snitch on the popular teachers who tell it like it is. All the cool kids will shun your narc kids because of you.

I’m white and went to a very diverse high school, and it was obvious even to stupid, young, blue collar grievance Rush Limbaugh loving me that the black kids weren’t getting a fair shake. Never got extra help because they had potential, never got the benefit of the doubt in a fight, never got recognized for demonstrated skills and accomplishments, never got put in the AP classes. I got all those things and got out, learned better, did better. Black kids smarter and more respectful, polite, and refined than me got stuck.

White boys got IEPs and diagnoses when they acted out. Black kids got suspended. In first grade.

Not all teachers were like this, but enough. Usually the ones that lived in our town and moved away when it got too brown for their tastes and raised their own kids somewhere lilly white. They weren’t calling anyone the n word but they didn’t need to. They didn’t even realize what they were doing was racist.

This was 20 years ago, and those folks are still teaching. Think about how much potential in that town was wasted due to their shit attitudes.

This was very well put. The same thing seems very obvious to me as well. The elementary kid sitting next to mine has no power. There is nothing to be gained in teaching him/her to be race neutral. That will happen much later with any luck when he/she attends university and has their minds broadened so to speak.

My interest is in making sure that the teachers in the classroom and the administrators are invested in making sure that little black boys aren’t being denied a fair and equal education.

I don’t want to have to waste my time or limited school resources on getting IEP services for my kid who doesn’t need them for any reason other than without one he has one less legal protection.

The fact that you think this is something Republicans worry about (or care about) makes it blindingly clear you have no clue. But it's fun to think you had a gotcha moment, isn't it?

Hint: Republicans are simply sick to death of TALKING ABOUT RACE, period. No one cares what race you are. Well - Democrats care obsessively. But no one else.

Yes, I'm just sure this is happening. In your fever dreams, maybe.

If you think the students are on the side of the book banning parents against the teachers who relate the real world the students live in, you don’t know kids at all.

The students I know are disgusted by surveys telling them they are inherently racist and microaggressors. It seems YOU don't know kids at all.

Actually, I'm a white woman. And you may be sick about talking about race, but your party has been using it as a wedge issue for decades. In fact, there's nothing that will whip your side up faster than thinking that minorities have something that you don't.

I am glad Youngkin is fighting against leftist ideology in class rooms.therr is no room for racist propaganda that teaches white kids are inherently bad.

Wow.

But at least the STASI would have implemented it better...

Seriously, this is yet another bad idea - that has been poorly implemented.

They are using an email address!!

Not a form on a secure page where some type of spam control (reCAPTCHA, pictures, etc.) or data encryption could be implemented.

I imagine 99% of what they are getting is worthless spam.

But then again, it's probably more about appearance than substance.

That, they have that down cold.

Clown show, bro...

You have that exactly opposite. Democrats have been using race as their primary wedge issue for decades. It's pretty much your *only* issue, as you refuse to discuss anything without first framing it in a "racial lens." And guess what? Plenty of POC are sick to death of it too. As you're going to find out in the upcoming elections. GL!

Nobody is teaching that white kids are inherently bad. You guys totally made that up. I’m a woman. If I make a statement such as: “Women have been oppressed by men for centuries” it does not mean all men, all the time and it does not mean that you—if you are a man—have oppressed women. No need to take any of this personally. Get it? I’m white, and I don’t take discussions about whites and their role in perpetuating inequities personally. It benefits us all to understand why things are the way they are, both good and bad.

Those are imaginary students and imaginary surveys. That’s as delusional as it gets.

What surveys are you talking about? My DC is a recent FCPS grad. I will ask them about the survey—you’re not the only one that “knows students.” Better yet, do you have a copy?

That’s made up bullshit. You are the ones who make everything about race by banning even one book that gives a black point of view of history, literature, politics, religion, or any topic. Your insistence that the only perspective allowable is school is that of the oppressive conservative white patriarchy is deplorable.

Once you understand how much of our social structure is established around racial issues and what needs to be done to achieve actual equality, the sooner we can all move forward. Your attitude and beliefs are literally the problem.
