You would be wrong |
So the answer is no? Then you should not invoke her name as an emotional appeal to make your points. |
LOL. The law also requires you to only enter an unregulated crosswalk when it’s safe to do so. People like you crack me up. You’re like the AppleCare lady of the streets. |
There is no such law. Drivers are required to yield to pedestrians in marked or unmarked crosswalks and are at fault if they strike the pedestrian. The fault of the driver is not reduced if the pedestrian didn't "exercise due care." The pedestrian has the legal right of way, full stop. Now there are obviously people who argue that the fact that the driver could kill the pedestrian means the pedestrian should be careful, which is what pedestrians are fired to do (the "might makes right" argument). My kids are better trained to stop at crosswalks than the drivers running stop signs and failing to stop for pedestrians. But being able to kill someone does not make you legally able to or change the legal calculus of the pedestrian's responsibilities. |
Which law? Please cite it. |
DP. If they say "the laws of physics, hah!" I swear I'm going to start puncturing random tires. Ok, I'm kidding but really people... |

Thanks for the cute, the law says the opposite of what LOL poster says. Failure to STOP and give right of way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or unmarked crosswalk at an intersection (un-signalized crosswalk) $250 and 3 points |

"The penalty for a first-time conviction of reckless driving is imprisonment for up to 3 months and a maximum fine of $500." Life is cheap in DC. |
What do you think the appropriate penalty should be for accidental death? |
DP. What do you think the appropriate penalty should be for driving so recklessly that you killed a person? |
Accidental is doing a whole lot of work there. |
“imprisonment for up to 3 months and a maximum fine of $500” |
