They do. It’s all available here. http://schoolprofiles.fcps.edu/schlprfl/f?p=108:42:7007779825102::::: (that link looks weird, so if it doesn’t work go here and click “monthly membership reports” https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/performance-and-accountability/student-reporting ) Last year from September through June FCPS lost a net total of 153 elementary schoolers. |
Ohh, but the -153 is just kids who started in Sept and then dropped out. It doesn't include all the kids who disappeared from spring 2020 to Fall 2020. |
Correct. You would have to look at prior years grade by grade to determine that loss. |
That is insane. That’s the size of an average HS class. They aren’t capping the ES classes at 20 or 22? What the hell? |
They have never capped ES at numbers that low, except for Title 1 schools. |
No kidding. I am wondering now why anyone would ever want to teach ES. |
Why did you think they might do this? That would be a huge drop in max class size. ES Teacher |
They do often provide IAs at higher numbers though. |
WOW. My kindergartener has 26 kids. |
My K kid has 27 this year. |
26, 27 in kindergarten is pretty typical. |
We are at Saratoga. It looks like enrollment went down about 100 kids. My 6th grader has 22 and my 4th grader has 18 in their classes |
Upper Elementary student in our household has 29 in the class. I'm sure it will get to 30-31 students during the year. |
I thought they needed an assistant then, but not sure what FCPS is doing now with the assistants. |
DS went to a title one es. His classes ranged from 18-25. |
