Yeah that really confused me. When I saw her name in the credits I thought, oh maybe most of the characters are Australian. And then Luke Evans is Australian. But she doesn't seem to be. But it's a really weird accent, not quite American.

I watched the first episode and half of the second and it’s terrible and boring so far! Does it get better? Was Nicole Kidman always such a bad actress?

I completely agree! I usually love Liane Mosriarty’s books but had to force myself to get though this one. I kept thinking it would get better but it didn’t.

I watched the first 3 episodes. Didn't read the book. A little slow but it introduced the characters back stories in an overly formulaic way (it may have been better to let that info come out a little at a time. But I'm sucked in enough to be curious about what's going on and why they're really there.

It is a slow burn. But if you’re not interested by now, I suggest you move on.
As for Kidman, I read a recent review that remarked how outstanding she was in Big Little Lies, particularly the therapy scenes which were described as “master class”. Of course over her 40 yr career she’s won every award (and has had many duds).

I'm surprised I'm liking it as much as I am.

I'm not a Nicole Kidman or Melissa McCarthy fan usually. I actually really like McCarthy in this role and so far she's my favorite.

I'm really enjoying it so far! It's way more mysterious than White Lotus, which was more slow and moody. Really enjoying Melissa McCarthy's character.

I think Nicole Kidman is great in this, but I like her in general. I like the mystery of it too, really looking forward to the next set of episodes.

I don’t love everything she does but I will never hate on Nicole Kidman. She’s an absolute cult survivor. The cult and her first husband absolutely tried to assassinate her career, if not her character. She made it out alive and thrived and found true love, married 15 years.

Am I the only one who is attracted to Bobby Cannavale's Tony? Yes, I would not want a guy like that in real life but something about him in this series is attractive.

Same. He has obviously been through some stuff, but I think Tony has a good heart.
