Thank you, I kept rewinding but couldn't figure it out either. |
I was nervous about the ending and where it would take us. Though it was good. |
Am I the only one that felt the final episode sucked?
It was like they rammed everything together just to finish it up as quickly as possible. I still hated Nicole as Masha. I absolutely loved Melissa and Bobby in this though. |
I came for the cast and scenery and soundtrack. Glad I stuck it out. |
Nope you aren’t the only one. Terrible terrible TV. The cast was good and the acting was good but they were given nothing to work with. The ending was terrible a real “and they all loved happily ever after” fairy tale type stuff. It didn’t match the rest of the show at all. I didn’t believe for a second any part of it. |
Good god I feel like I'd like this more, but it is SO HARD to look past Nicole Kidman's burn victim look. Why oh why do women do this to themselves, deliberately?!

Ok, I know this thread is four years old, so my apologies. I'm very late to this show.
I thought it was... ok. I absolutely loved the Melissa McCarthy / Bobby Cannavale romance. We don't often see MM in a role like that and I was struck again by how beautiful she really is. I did not like the Jessica character. The constantly halting way she spoke was so, so annoying. I found Ben very irritating too and thought their storyline was underwritten/boring. The Marconi family acting was wonderful - I was especially impressed with the actress playing Zoe. What a gut-wrenching storyline. So, am I understanding correctly that Jessica and Ben took over Tranquillum at the end? And Masha went... where, exactly? I gather there's a second season - is it worth watching? |
I admit I didn’t finish the first season. I just wasn’t invested - though I loved the Melissa storyline, but that was pretty much it. If you liked Zoe, highly recommend you watch “Tell me lies” - a drama about college kids with a fair about of sex scenes - it’s good LOL. The actress in a real life is I believe the niece of Dick Van Patton and I agree she’s very compelling on screen. I’m coming back for the second season because of the cast. Annie Murphy, who played Alexis on Schitt‘s Creek, Henry Golding, who I think it’s adorable. And Christine Baranski, who I love. |
Season 2 Premieres May 21, 2025 |
Nice. Thanks. |
I've watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 and it's missing...something. It's not drawing me in like season 1 did.
I wonder if it's because I waited to watch season 1 until all episodes were released and then watched them over 2 evenings. |
New season is pretty slow.
Three quarters into the first episode, I was shocked by how bored I was. Usually it's not so hard for me to give shows a chance but it felt like work. I love several of the actors, so will keep trying! |
Did season 1 not do whole book? I have not seen either season but read book. Curious if Hulu writing new story? |
I've only watched the first episode of season 2, but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed. This one seems much more... campy, for lack of a better word. I liked the first season because it felt like all the characters were real people, not caricatures. And I also can't stand Annie Murphy. |
I'm trying to slog through episode 4 and it is boring the hell out of me. Trippy stuff is not at all interesting when you are not the one tripping.
Might not finish this show. |
